I need some computer help!
So I was running Kaspersky on my desktop when my g/f decides to restart the computer. Now it won't load windows. I just get a black screen asking me if I want to start normally, start in safe mode, safe mode with networking, or return to previous state. No matter what I choose, it just cycles back to the same screen. If I choose nothing, it just continually restarts itself. I can't even get a C: prompt. Any help would be HOT.

That has crossed my mind. Last month she tried to load Office 2000 onto a computer running Vista.

I had a bad patching virus. It caused malwarebytes to delete shit in my i386 folder and then I got the Userinit error everytime I restarted. I tried using dr. webbs cure it but it didn't work. So I said screw it. I put all of the music and pictures I needed and just reinstalled. I am not to ashamed of doing it because I really wanted to anyway LOL.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won't last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you'll be able to project it on a 20' by 40' screen with perfect quality. I think it's the director's prerogative, not the studio's to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I was a LAN\WAN admin for about 7 years. My last year in the industry I was part of a special department in the company tasked with addressing malware specifically.  I don't have to tell you guys, I've seen it all.

I don't have problems with malware because I'm prepared and cautious. It really doesn't take much to stay malware-free. A few simple precautions;  use a router, configure it properly, surf with Firefox - and this one I can't stress this enough - if you surf for porn, you will have to deal with malware.  File sharing\torrenting, and serching for song lyrics (oddly enough) are also hotbeds for malware.

The reason I quoted ESF is because I'm a firm believer in an occasional complete reload of a machine.  I do my own every year or so.  Keeps things up to date and clean.
