I might very well use some of your advice.
Step 1:let your T.V. run for 30min
step 2 :pop in star wars episode:III ROTS DVD in your Blu-ray/DVD player,go to options,THX,then go to video test.
3:go to Your t.v menu and click on picture settings.
4:make sure your T.V. is not overscaned(go to post 2 for more info)
5:set color tone to the warmest setting or color temp. to the lowest setting(6,500k;Note: the picture may look a little reddish or greenish at first, but will look natural in a few days).
Step 6 : read all 3 post(not the Edited post 1),start at the gamma, post 12;and stop at the Brightness,contrast,sharpness;post 15 http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/How-to-Calibrate-you-TV/topic/14577/page/1/
7: Follow the instructions in the THX video test on the ROTS DVD
I hope this sums up everything, go to post 2 and watch the videos(in order), for more information.6500k is the standard for PAL and NTSC.5500k for Internet.
