Why not? Composite video is just an FM signal.

Laserdisc MasterAudio range is within 1-20KHz (up to 100/200KHz sometimes) while composite video is up to 3.58MHz (NTSC)... so, I don't think that device could handle signal in the orders of MHz... but I'd happy to be proved wrong!
What about my idea about RGB capture?

An RGB capture would rely even more on the '90s video processing of the LD player than using S-Video output does (further down the chain of decoding from composite color encoding). So I'm skeptical. We want to go in the opposite direction.
