I really enjoyed the tv show Reno: 911! (at least the first several seasons) and was revisiting it on netflix after seeing it all on comedy central back in the day.
It was of course a low-brow spoof of "COPS" and 'Real Stories of the Highway Patrol,' etc. So it had fuzzed out nudity, bleeped profanity and frequent "bumpers."
Then I saw the "feature film" and it got away from this formula, making it more like a generic modern comedy that happened to feature police officers.
So here's my modest proposal...
Edit the "film" (Reno 911: Miami) into a series of TV length (20 minute) episodes, with the bleeps, mosaics, and bumpers (perhaps edited to say "Reno 911: Miami" instead of just "Reno 911!" as in the regular series.
Someone feel free to steal my idea. I have no plans to do it myself... but it would be cool if somebody edited the movie to fit better with the tone and spirit of the original show as most of us saw it.
