also on the shot before han says "you're all clear kid, now lets blow this thing and go home" when the falcon is shown flying against some stars i noticed the stars had a blinking effect.  would a custom matte of the star field eliminate that?

What about turning Vader's belt lights green again in the "I've been waiting-" shot? I wouldnt want you to get bored. : )

I know its such a small thing but it just annoys me since I have original panel lamps in my drawer waiting to go on a replica; they're green.

Us prop Nazi's use these films for reference and so little things like that stick out to us more than others maybe.

You can see it in this shot. Whether it's in any others, I dont know since I have never seen V.1.

His belt lights look green in the GOUT.

Also I while watching this I think in the shot of Vader saying "When I left you-" The saber is too opaque. It looks fake. I know you are trying to make the effects consistant but when looking at that youtube video even the 2004 Dvd looks closer to the look of the original.

Just pointing that out. If you want to do anything for these critiques I would love it!

I registered on this forum just to post a huge THANK YOU for doing this.  More than just proving that you have "mad skillz" at video editing, you are restoring a portion of many of our childhoods.  Even better, I have a 6-year old daughter.  She's not quite ready for Star Wars yet, but in 1-2 years I'll be able to share these editions with her, thus making them a part of her childhood as well.

It is absolutely stunning to me that GL is so blinded or arrogant that he cannot see the need for the original releases, but for now, your versions of these films are more definitive than anything he has released in the last 25 years.  I eagerly await the v2.0 release.

My hat is off to you, and everyone else that contributed to this project.  Also, I know that it's a "thorny" issue, but if you do decide to accept donations to improve your equipment, PM me, because I'm all in.

The starfield in the SE *is* the original, isn't it? Didn't they go back to the '77 elements for that? (Hence the blue lens flash on the Star Destroyer engines, which is an artifact that was more visible in the original '77 composite than in the '81 recomp, but was extremely overemphasized in the '04.)
