All right then, I'll re-work them once more, trying to fix any errors that are still there... hyphens, quotation marks and the new starfield. And while we're at "See Threepio", isn't the "O" in "C3PO" supposed to be a "0" (zero)? I've copy/pasted the credits from that BlueHarvest-site I've linked to above, and it already had a lot of typos, so this might be one of the more difficult to tell ones.

No, it's an O. It matches the capital O in "Organa," "Obi-Wan" and "Owen."

As for the fonts, yeah, I've used Century Gothic for the Dolby logo's texts, so thanks for the correct one, I'll change it :-) Also I guess I'll just rebuild the "DOLBY SYSTEM" line with something like Eurostile, as I just took a Google image for that.

No, the "DOLBY SYSTEM" font is accurate, it looks perfect. The commercially available version of Eurostile has a narrower "O" than the version used in the original Dolby logo. It's just the text above and below that was wrong.

Regarding the MPAA-font... no idea... it's way too small to tell. I think I'll try a font that's closer to this:

Not close enough IMO. Let me look at a fullscreen release, it has more vertical resolution. Hold off on it until then.

Still looking for the MPAA font, haven't found it yet, but I think I might be getting closer. When I find anything else, I'll let you guys know.

1.2 look a little blurry to me. I see that the building behind the Dewback is different, but I think the Dewback in the top one looks more clear.

No, I didn't. Now I can see that the 1.2 is much less cardboard-cutout looking.

I think only the Dewback's behind looks a bit fuzzier in the new version (the old version looks better and sharper in that area). Apart from that the new version looks slightly better though.

I was just about to ask about that picture.  The Dewback looks darker.  I really can't tell anything else. What did you do?

After a closer look the sand in version one looks slightly yellow where as version 2 looks more natural.

Version 2 does look better.

I think the new shot looks great, the overall image is brighter, the background building is much clearer and the Dewback looks more realistic. The coloring of the Dewback is more greenish-brown in tone, but isn't that closer to what it's supposed to look like?

One thing that makes the newer one more realistic is the compositing of the dewback in front of the buildings.  The border looks heavy in the older version.

In the old one the Dewback is just from GOUT but I noticed that you can see it from that angle in the shot where Luke and Ben are leaving the cantina (just before the Greedo scene), so I used that and even used the building from there, so it's actually HD.

The new shot looks great, the dewback looked like it was matted in in the "before."

While trying to determine the font in the MPAA logo, I popped in the JSC V8. If I turn up saturation, I can notice the drop shadow (though even here, there's a load of bleeding, so it still looks like a diffuse glowy blob). But it's not like the GOUT where the grain removal softened the text to all heck - I can see the edges on the text! Just interesting to note...

Anyway, I also noticed that the proportions of "DOLBY SYSTEM" and the box around it are kind of off on the re-creation. What happened was, the logo Laserschwert found online wasn't totally accurate to the one used onscreen in the movie - I noticed the slightly inaccurate Dolby symbol already, but not the text part. As I said, don't change the font, the version of Eurostile that is available for computers has a narrower O than the one used here. But the text should be smaller, and the box around it should be of the same thickness as the text. Like this:

Also, the placement of the fade-out; since you're trying to match the GOUT framing/timing, the fade should start about a little less than halfway between when the copyright leaves frame and when "Ownership" starts to leave frame, and should the fade should end just as "applicable" leaves frame.

For some reason, the fade-out occurs earlier and is quicker on the pre-'93 releases. No idea why...this would mean that the GOUT is a THIRD credit roll (a variation of the revised one that's on the pre-'93 video releases, the Starkiller bootleg and Puggo Krig - I think the timing of the fade-out is the only difference).

What happened with the section of the cantina to the right of it? It looks completely different, was that changed in the SE?

Looking good but keep in mind that the establishing shot was part matte painting in the original film, so now you have the real building in place where the matte was before, making this shot despecialized and specialized at the same time. ;)

Harmy, that shot does look good.  I was wondering something.  I was watching your work on the Light Sabers on Youtube which I think look great. You sure surprise me with that.  I didn't see it coming. :)

But since you were doing that was you planning on tweaking Lukes as he is swing it?

Its not a request.  Just wonder.

Not really, because while it is a bit different, the difference is quite small, whereas in the duel, the sabres look totally different.

That is most likely the chroma-shift in the JSC-transfer you're seeing, I really doubt that you can see the drop shadow on that low-res transfer.

I think part of the blade covers some the saber itself.  I am not sure how to describe it.

OK, I checked the Technidisc LD since it used the same source element at the GOUT (and the end credits fade out a little later just like on the GOUT), and the font looking different in the MPAA logo on the GOUT does seem to be due to denoising, not because it's actually different. When I laid the Technidisc over the JSC, the font matched. So the GOUT credit roll is identical to the one all the pre-'93 video releases / the Starkiller bootleg / Puggo Krig, with the exception of the timing of the fade-out.

Also, the transition from the credits on starfield to John Barry's name scrolling up isn't just a fade-out, then fade-in, it's a dissolve. Due to the denoising, you can't see the two onscreen at the same time in the GOUT. Laserschwert, I'll PM you with screenshots from the Technidisc to show the timing of the dissolve.

I'm pretty sure that this is the font used in the MPAA notice:

Unfortunately, I just can't find this font anywhere, it's probably some sort of variant of Helvetica or a similar typeface, but none of the versions available for computer look like it.

Interestingly, I believe that "No. 24925" is actually in the same font as the actual credits. Oftentimes, since the MPAA number was put in over a generic template with the logo, they just put either the number or the whole "No. #####" in the same typeface they were using for the rest of the credits. I know that 2001: A Space Odyssey has "NO." in the same font as "APPROVED" and the MPAA name, but the actual certificate number is in the credits typeface. In the case of this film, it looks like the whole "No. 24925" is in the main credits font. I'm looking at the "2" and the "9" in Puggo's transfers, and they do look the same as the "2" and "9" used elsewhere in the credits.

Heck, maybe someone could take a HD screencap of the MPAA notice from 2001 from the Blu-ray, and you could trace the "APPROVED" and "MOTION PICTURE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA" from that - they're pretty big in that, bigger than they are in SW I think. You know, I think I'll try to get an image...

The overall contrast looks better in v1.2, as does the dewback's colour and compositing, which looks more natural.  However, as someone else mentioned, it's rear end looks fuzzy -- is this because it's in motion during the scene or is it just the limitations of the source?

Actually, its rear end is from the GOUT, only recoloured to fit with the rest, since in the frames before the camera starts moving faster (creating motion blur) the Dewback's ass was covered by Ben's head.
