Han D. SoloOh, yeah, the uloz.to links are down (intentionally). Sorry. There are new MU links at tehparadox.

I'm doing something similar, I'm trying to recreate the italian crawl in HD, episode-less, and then I'd need the Greedo scene without hard-subs, to make my own.
If you succeed in making a version with an Italian crawl, I'd be very interested in seeing it!

I am ready for the trials! My German alterations to Harmy's version can be found in the German preservation thread (pics of the Greedo subtitles and a video of the opening)

Joliet JakeI'm almost done with the crawl, Puggo, the bigger part of the job is trying to sync it with the english one. I've gotten the "Guerre Stellari" logo to recede at the correct speed, but the main text is still all over the place. Should I make a thread for this, so we don't bring Harmy's off topic?
... And they had 'The Empire Strikes Back', the fifth of the four Star Wars films. He is fucking with us numerically, isn't he! "Children, count up to ten." "Four, five, six, one, two, three, ten". No, it goes, four, five, six, one, two, three… No, it goes: four, five, six. One... Two and three have not been made." "Two and three have not been made! What should they be?" "What should they be? We do not know. All we know is that there will be a big floppy character in it that goes, squawk squawk squawk... who needs a punch up the bracket!"

Han D. SoloLaserschwert, I was going to make a German version myself for my uncle, so you doing so will save me some work but it sure would have been nice if you asked for permission to use my version (I would have totally said yes, but it just seems like common courtesy).
I will still be including a fixed (thanks to Luffy03) German dub in v1.2.

I am ready for the trials!Sorry, I didn't meant to be disrespectful. I totally love what you've done, but until now I thought I were just making these for myself. ;-)
I think it will make sense if we combine our efforts here, right?
Again, I'm sorry if I came off rude, that wasn't my intention!
What exactly is fixed in Luffy03's German dub? I was thinking of using the cleaned up Blu-ray voice tracks (center channels, I guess) to make a new German track (they've cleaned up the original German voice recordings from ANH for the Blu-ray and remixed the other two as well and they sound stellar!)

Han D. SoloNo problem :-)
I'd be using the GOUT dub, which Luffy03 is working on fixing by restoring some missing lines and background music.

Are you going to add a German dub to Empire as well?
I guess I'll try to swap the voice in hairy_hen's 5.1-tracks with the remastered German ones to have perfect additions to the GOUT-tracks... what do you think?

Dark Jedi KnightLaser, is there any way you can leave your project in your thread, and leave this one to Harmy? I know I would rather read about what Harmy is doing here, than what you are doing in this thread, just a thought.

Still, I have something regarding your 1.2: Are you considering swapping the font of Greedo's subtitles? You're using Franklin Gothic, which wasn't used before the SEs, I think.

First of all, thank you so much for doing this. I can finally watch Star Wars on something other than VHS. I was wondering, in the scene where luke blasts the door controls, almost the entire time Vader is walking towards the door (1:30:27-1:30:22), his lightsaber is bright white instead of red:

Was this how this scene always was?

Han D. SoloI worked hard to make it white instead of red ;-)
Doubleofive's comparrison says:
"The original shot of Darth Vader did not have any color to his practical lightsaber prop. The red glow was added in 2004."

Padawan LearnerIt was white originally. Lucas change it to red in 2004. I love the star wars with all its mistakes.

Han D. Solo@Laserschwert: I probably will be changing the subs (although not necessarily the font).

In that same shot suddenly Chewbacca has on on his gun belt.

Ah, thanks for the reply. I should have looked at the list of changes (since it's there). Guess I never looked very hard for these things when watching it. Very interesting to see the imperfections in the movie and how far you've gone to despecialize the Lucas fixes. Thanks again.

This is the shot (not resized) from Puggos 16 mm transfer:

The saber was white before the 2004 release.

Time TravelerHats off to you Harmy, fantastic quality!
Just one question, I guess this has to do with the way the DVD was constructed and the file ready for burning but I checked all 3 movies in the PC and the volume is quite low, like very low. When I burn them and play them with surround system will they have regular volume levels?
(Yes, the computer and player volume was at max)
Other than that...FANTASTIC JOB!

Han D. SoloMust be something wrong on your side, the volume is quite normal on my computer.

Time TravelerIt was the stupid Windows media player. For some reason double clicking on the m2ts with it and I didn't notice.
Just opened them with media Player classic and they sound GREAT!
Nero Showtime plays them w/o sound. Weird.
But yeah, MPC does the trick as usual. Again, thank you for making these Harmy!

Just wanted to throw out a huge thank you to Harmy for the work he's done here! My daughter just turned 3 but she's already a huge R2-D2 fan from looking at books and playing with Galactic Heroes. I've been waiting for the day to finally share these films with her (she's been begging for weeks), but knowing I'd most likely have to show her the "special" edition has been bittersweet. Finding this thread has given me some hope that her first viewing will be of the same film that left me awestruck years ago.
Just one quick question: is the MySpleen thing people are mentioning a better option the the MU links? Seems like the first option will take weeks to complete (I'm probably doing something wrong).
Thanks again! Cool prop pics, btw!
