Don't you can use the Soundboard on the official Star Wars  homepage for some parts of the dialogue, original CDs or Vinyls for music and some other source for sound-effects and combine it with original LD-sound, to recreate the movie-sound on your own?

What would be the benefit of doing that?

Creating an audio-file with more than two channels, to recreate some version of an original cinema sound, which don't exist anymore?

Star Wars premiered in 1977 with a mono soundtrack (35mm), a 4-channel (matrix-encoded) Dolby Stereo soundtrack (35mm), and a 6-channel Dolby "baby boom" soundtrack (70mm).

So which one do you consider to be "original"?

Adywan made some excellent menus on his Star Wars revisited project I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you copied his menu design exactly

Well, the actual design of the menu isn't the problem - the problem is getting the menu to work, which is much more complicated for BD than it was for DVD. I would be completely satisfied if I could make a DVD type menu - I could totally do without all the bells and whistles that were added for BD, like pop up menu and stuff - I actually have yet to see a single BD menu, that can compete aesthetically with some of the best DVD menus - for example both Star Wars and Lord of the Rings EE BD menus are a disaster compared to their DVD counterparts. I also prefer having several different pages to the menu - like when you go to language selection or chapter selection and the background and music changes from the main menu, rather than having a pop up menu with a united background in one loop under everything, like it usually is on BDs.

In case you're still considering Encore for authoring, Blu-ray menus are created just the way DVD menus were. So menus and their transitions are handled like before, with the added capability of multi-page and pop-up menus.

Yeah, I am not considering Encore, since like I said before, it doesn't allow more than 8 audio tracks and I think I have like 15.

Well, actually, looking at it now, with 5 different English mixes (3x77, 85, 93) and all the commentaries and stuff, it's well over 20.

Than all 4 are some kind of originals. Can't we recreate all 4 with my suggestion?

First, there are 3 original mixes. Second, what you're suggesting is unnecessary given the current state of SW sound preservations. To start, the Mono was preserved from VHS European recordings and the Stereo mix was taken from Laserdisc in both analog and digital formats. Those two exist in their original forms. The 70mm surround-sound mix has been recreated by OT member Hairy Hen using the 93 dolby mix PCM from laserdisc, de-matrixizing it into 4 discreet channels, adding an LF channel, and fixing the changes done to the mix for the 93 home video re-release by splicing in other sources.

RE: Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD !!!REMASTERED v2.1 AVCHD is now out!!!

Well, there's a lot wrong with your version...

First of all, you've used all the wrong fonts. The Lucasfilm logo has to use "FuturaLT Bold", "A long time ago..." has to use "TradeGothic Bold No. 2" and the crawl has to use "NewsGothic Bold". The SW logo starts way too big, is missing it's black fill and the words are all at the same size (while in the original GUERRA and GALAXIAS are bigger then the rest). You've used a font for the SW logo, which is never a good idea, as it doesn't include the correct "joints" between letters. Also the crawl is stretched way too much and everything is missing that "optical composition" look with gate weave and bleeding edges.

Have a look:

I will upload all my international intros soon, so that people can use them in their projects.

How did you create that "optical composition" look? Gaussian Blur, Glow and Wiggle?

Almost: Roughen Edges, Glow and Wiggle for the title cards, and a combination of different blurs and alpha contrast corrections for the crawl.

I get the feeling the test clip is done entirely in styles of Arial.

That translation seems very literal, more than I expected.  (Then again, I've seen some very VERY literal es_MX dubs before.)

Hello my friends,

Thanks to the Despecialized project, we are be able to return to that far, far away galaxy we knew a long time ago.

While it's not the focus of this project, I'm sure we're all united as Star Wars fans in the hopes that the next generation of Star Wars films being produced will return to the classic style of the Original Trilogy rather than the... other ones.

Much like the original intention OriginalTrilogy.com, a new website has been set up indenting to deliver a message/petition to JJ Abrams, the director of the next Star Wars film.

Check out the site below, sign the petition, and watch the awesome video!

http://www.DearJJAbrams.com

Sorry to interrupt. Please carry on with this highly focused and always on-topic thread discussion.
