Curse you all, you should have caught me!The script might not be perfect, but Harmy seems to have done a thorough job of customizing it afterward. I don't think it'd necessarily benefit greatly from starting all over.
Personally I'd feel a lot better if I watched two minutes of the BluRays themselves then looked at the Despecialized again. Any imperfections melt by comparison.

Can someone recreate the deleted Jabba Scene? from "a new hope" with? the actor Declan Mulholland in HD? The available version of a reconstruction is bad because you can see the stencils and the quality differences of the sources, also a color correction is missing.
And I also want to see the final version from 1997 in HD, with and without original cinema subtitles. If someone needs some source, I have a DVD Transfer from a 1997 German Laserdisc, with original German cinema subtitles.
And color correction & picture cleaning of the official Blu Ray deleted scenes would also be nice.
Anything else? Your face on the $1 bill, perhaps?
Star Wars is the only case in modern film history where the preservation of the original award-winning version has been left up to the fans. That fact alone proves that Lucas is insane.

Some time ago (and naturally I can't find it now) there was a discussion about the ® symbol on the Fox logo appearing earlier than the rest of the logo in 2.1, and I think Harmy said that he had to reconstruct that himself.
I discovered last night that one of my old Fox Blu-rays has the same logo as Star Wars, complete with the ® (still appearing before the rest of the logo, but done officially rather than being a reconstruction). The discussion was a while ago, but does anyone need a copy of that logo, or has it already been sorted out for 2.5?

Harmy used the Fox logo from the ALIEN blu ray for 2.1 - I dunno if it needed/needs tweaking, however.

Han D. SoloYeah, the logo has already been fixed for v2.5

Han D. SoloWell, yes, once I get the lossless audio files, the MKV can be out within a day and I can finally start putting together the BD.

Padawan LearnerI haven't checked this thread in a while, but I had no idea that all Harmy was waiting for was the lossless audio files from hairy_hen. I really hope he gets them done soon as I'm dying to see 2.5 released.

Han D. SoloIf it was up to me, I wouldn't give a crap about lossless audio, especially for the mixes that are already sourced from lossy sources but I want to put out a quality release that even the audiophiles here can appreciate. I personally really can't tell the difference - hell, I just recently tried listening to a 96000Hz 4608kbps FLAC of a Beatles song and then a 44100Hz 128kbps MP3 and couldn't hear any difference whatsoever and this was on my friend's hi-fi equipment.

I suppose you could upload only the video track and let people mux it with whatever they like.

Han D. SoloWell, you know, when h_h said it would be done in a couple of days (like two months ago) I decided to wait and now that it's taking much longer and I'm thinking about releasing the mkv without the lossless tracks, I have this feeling, what if the lossless tracks are done two days later and I release an incomplete version and keep getting asked on how to mux in audio and to re-upload dead audio tracks and so on and it will all have been possible to be avoided by waiting just a couple more days.

To play devil's advocate, isn't this the second time you've delayed the release "a couple of days?" I think waiting might be prudent, too, but I'm just trying to think about all sides...

Dark Jedi KnightWe are waiting as well, but we are still a couple weeks(give a week or 2) away from our release, but I can say for sure if it is not ready by the time I start testing our package it will not be included, I have already said that you guys have waited long enough so I will not have people wait even longer, the old versions will just have to do, I know we would love to include these updated files but I guess we will all see what comes up, I thought we were getting updated wavs for all 3 films, who knows.
and not to sound mean lol but if we do miss out on this updated file then we will not need the other 2 either if they are being done as well at some point.
I guess we will all see what happens in the next.

How about they get released now and then when HH is ready to upload, then we all mux the audio in our selves.
It's so easy to do any ways.
We could post a how to for muxing, for those who haven't figured it out already.

Padawan LearnerI agree with you, Harmy, about not really needing lossless audio tracks mixed from lossy sources. Seems like something that most here(aside from the most hardcore audiophiles) could do without.

Han D. SoloI just took this interesting color vision test and scored 16 (where 0=Perfect Color Acuity , 99=Low Color Acuity and the worst score ever in my gender and age group is 444445389). Not too bad, I think :-)
I may make the test compulsory for everyone wanting to engage in any future DeEd color correction discussion with me :-D ;-)

Lol, I did that a couple of years ago on a nice monitor and got it perfect.. Will have to give this another go on a proper monitor when I get a chance and see if I can still do it.
On the lossless note, yeah, for being complete and all, it'd be nice to wait, but it has indeed been a couple months now. Wasn't aware it was from a lossy source though, I wonder what more details exist on that..
In any case, it'd certainly be good to start on the full BD authoring instead of waiting on those files. At the very least, it'd be "ready" sooner, and getting it pieced together is the hardest part. Hell, if the MKV is ready, I'm sure we can easily get the "lossless" (now I question the losslessness of this! damn!) figured out. Anyone who cares enough about such a thing can take the 5 min. to do what they need. If it really came down to it, getting a "2.5 + Lossless" out there probably wouldn't hurt.
+1 for giving it however much longer and then going for it.. +2 for starting on authoring, as that's the bigger pain.
