Chewtobacca's version is available on myspleen. If you need an invite, PM me. If your DVD player supports 720p, can you check on the package if it also supports AVCHD? Maybe it does, as I see no point in supporting 720p, unless there's a USB port on it. In that case, I'd just not bother and convert it with Handbrake using the "high profile" preset to keep the 720p format.

"Let's face it, the Ewoks sucked, dude" -Hurley, Lost 5x13-Some like it Hoth.

Please bear with me if I tend to get too excited about anything or say too much, I have issues.

I was mistaken.  It doesn't seem to support 720p.  Sent you a PM.

Harmy, I have a question about the color timing in background of the scenes where Luke is removing R2's restraining bolt, the T-16 and outside hallway seem a bit more green than in the scenes following it.  I know that coloring of that part of the image was something you had to address when Luke walked through it, just wondering if this was more of that same problem, or something left in because it was supposed to look like that at that point.

I don't remember thinking much about that, I just followed the reference.

I see...Does converting it to any of these DVD compatible files hinder quality?  I obviously want to convert to whatever DVD compatible file that preserves the most quality.  Seems like Mpeg2 would be the best choice, since practically every DVD player is made to support that.  Do you guys think I can and should convert the avchd .iso to an mpeg2 and then burn it to the dvd?

EDIT: well, maybe not.  It seems people are saying that .mp4 will preserve the most quality...This one guy said just import the .iso into a DVD burning program and just have it convert it to a DVD format from there.  What do you guys think?  Sorry for my ignorance in this topic.  I've actually never burned any movies to a DVD before, so I've really got no idea what I'm doing.

I assume I need to convert the .iso that I extracted from the 41 .rar files, correct?

Thanks for the help so far guys.  Still can't wait to watch this :)  I just hope that I don't mess up in any way and only have to use one DVD :)

You have to convert the AVCHD to mpeg2 that's the dvd standard.

Hard to say what is 'best' DVD burning tool as there are several utilities out there.

I use AppGeeker DVD Creator which does the job for me.

See: http://www.ilikemall.com/convert/burn-mts-to-dvd.html

It may be other options out there, for sure.

Hey all, I know that several people have wanted to support Harmy financially for all of his hard work, but the certainty of legal ramifications has prevented the creation of crowdfunding efforts etc. How about making a contribution via the sale of fan gear, the profits of which would be given to Harmy for the purchase of a new mac, or blu-ray media, or whatever his favourite late night snack is or whatever.

For instance, I know I would purchase in a heart-beat, a T-shirt that said "HarmyFilm" in a star wars-esque font

Now I'm no lawyer, but selling a t-shirt with the man's name on it that has no connection with Lucas/Disney's intellectual property must be in the clear, no? Of course this is provided that the font used is properly licensed. Heck, I'm sure someone could hand-draw it and it would be fine.

Anyway, I don't have the capacity to undertake the production of the t-shirts, but I could easily mock up the t-shirt design if harmy doesn't already have some useable graphics kicking around on his HD.

Thoughts?

Perhaps FILMS rather than FILM, so we don't sound like we're covered in a hard to scrub off layer of Harmy...

I came across this site Which apparently lets people create t-shirts and if they get 30 orders within the first 30 days, they'll print them and the creator will get $5 from each $20 shirt. Perhaps the easiest method would be for harmy to set this up so the proceeds go to him directly and if there are enough takers, he'll at least get $150 USD and we'll all get cool t-shirts.

@yoda-sama: I believe harmy has spelled it "Harmy Film" in the closing credits as well as the disc art. Maybee he'd consider changing it for the t-shirt.

@Harmy: If you're game, let me know and I can do a serious design for the shirt.

Maybe a Harmy Film is a lens filter or extra movie film layer that covers up special edition changes...

Haha. Just like the blue filter glasses used for display calibration tests.

Here's another version:

That's a bit better looking, I think, and as has been learned from the Veronica Mars Kickstarter shirts, printing on the arms practically doubles the cost.

Realistically, though, I'm not sure where this idea falls in the legal spectrum.

RE: Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD !!!REMASTERED v2.1 AVCHD is now out!!!

Yeah I'm not entirely sure either. I'm fairly certain that as long as the contents of the text "Harmy Film" don't have any connection with Lucas/Disney and the typestyle is free or properly licensed (The one I used is "sf distant galaxy") and the stars element is royalty free, it should be clear. I've seen heaps of coca-cola themed t-shirts available and surely they're not all officially licensed. I suppose it would more so be an issue of calling attention to this lovely forum. Ultimately It's Harmy's call. Perhaps others could weigh in on the legal side of things?

RE: Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD !!!REMASTERED v2.1 AVCHD is now out!!!

Well, definitely don't mention the forum with anything involved with selling the shirt, much less on the shirt itself, if you move forward with it.

RE: Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD !!!REMASTERED v2.1 AVCHD is now out!!!

Of course. This is all contingent on Harmy's thoughts. My only involvement would be to hand over a t-shirt design for Harmy to use should he have any inkling to do any of this.

Yeah, I like the second version better. To throw my 2 cents in, I'd remove all of the stars except for inside the font. The stars make it kinda ugly.

From a complete anal-retentive point of view, you connected up the F and the I on the front, but not the back.  Also I believe the black interior of the text is completely opaque in the film.

But from a non-anal-retentive point of view, awesome.  I wonder if a subtitle like "Preserving Classic Cinema Since 2010" (or some such thing) might work.

EDIT: Nevermind about the subtitle, that would just make it look like my signature line (no wonder I liked the idea).  Carry on.
