Thanks. If I understand correctly:
- the 70mm FLAC encoding is ok (no encoding issues, not included in despecialized)
- this is a re-encode of the 35mm stereo and mono mixes (from Belbucus, just in case there was an issue with the version inside despecialized)
i didn't know there was a flac of the 70mm. is it still available somewhere?

Just wanted to thank you for doing this.
It is much appreciated by all whose memories of the tale that once helped mold much of their childhood has been adulterated into an almost unrecognizable mess.
You have brought many of our childhoods and rekindled our love of the wars in many cases.
Thank you for all you have done and bring on V.2.1 and ESB and ROTJ too ! LOL.
Thank you again !

Aren't you guys a bit off topic? You're just repeating what has been said on this site a hundred times and you're repeating it in a way that makes other people think we're a bunch of whining fanboys. Urgh, I have to stop reading this thread, I get pissed of every time.
Anyway, guiser, yes, that is right, the FLAC version is fine. The stereo and mono versions are probably fine too but there's a small chance they may not be, so as long as people are remuxing the 5.1, they may as well remux those too, just to be sure.
Excellent, thanks!

Yes, so I'll bring it back on topic by offering my thanks to Harmy and all the others involved for doing what George Lucas et al won't and giving us the nearest thing yet to the Original version.

Oh, I'm sorry, I completely forgot before. Here are the checksums for the AVCHD iso file:

Thanks for the checksums, Harmy ^_^

Harmy,
Wow. Great work. Love the colors, you did a great job with the added grain and the gate weave that was added in the parts where you needed to add it (starfields, subtitles, static shots from other sources, etc.) is spot on.
I think you also got the drab look of the droids leaving the escape pod on Tatooine just right!
I'll download this version, the next, and version 99999 and every one in between.
Thanks for your invaluable service. You have done a great job.
BTW, I'm all for reducing the brightness of the Obi-Wan meets Luke scene.

And f'real, not any of that 'knighted without the title 'sir'' crap. Kudos dude! I'm excited to see what'll happen next! Could be some *serious* play in the media.

Padawan LearnerEh, Pegg, whatever...kind of a whiny fanboy. Hopefully LFL will treat it like Topher Graces' little project and continue to ignore it, but then again, that didn't get distributed across every channel anyone could think of...yikes...

Magister Pontifex MaximusI can see why it might be scary but it might also work towards the ultimate goal of this site.
GOUT happened largely to stem the flow of bootlegs created in the vacuum left when Lucas didn't put out an official DVD himself.
Harmy proved what can be done with little more than a HD telly broadcast a variety of upscaled sources and a lot of hard graft.
Now the officially line of, "you want the impossible" has become more and more untenable.
Singling out Harmy after so many high profile endorsements (not to mention all those other fan-preservations and edits out there) is bound to backfire.
I wouldn't be too surprised to hear something officially good soon (even if it's just nuGOUT:HD).

Doubt it. At this point Lucasfilm and ALL its lawyers should be simply focused on the bootlegging of their officia albeit crappy releases, as that is where the majority of modern and average fans are looking.
We, those who love cinema for what it is, are a very small minority. Hardly worth them even worrying about. After all, we've all bought these movies a thousands times across various mediums.

Han D. SoloYeah, that's what I always figured. There's like a million bootleg versions of the official BD on torrents and upload sites, so the DeEd makes for such a small percentage of the illegal downloads of Star Wars, it can't really be worth notice.
