I am ready for the OOT!Restoring the gate weave on the Cantina matte is an interesting approach. If it helps to hide the GOUT dewback, then I'm all for it. Especially since it's a short shot.
But I think the gate weave should be avoided in other situations.
And also:

Um, what?

005 is dividing Star Wars viewers into two categories: Normal viewers and Harmy's Viewers. Normal Viewers have seen the 1997 or 2004 version and noticed some of the changes. Harmy's Viewers have seen Despecialized 1.0 and thought it was pretty great.
However, 005's statement is concerned with "the little things". "The little things" are things which 90% of Normal Viewers didn't notice as being changed. They were very impressed with the obvious changes, but so many little things were changed (Zoomed cockpits, to use an ESB example) that most viewers missed them. Frankly, 90% is far too low a number.
"The little things" are also things which, when viewing Despecialized 1.0, Harmy's Viewers didn't notice as not being perfect. Harmy did a lot of work to make Despecialized 1.0, but he'll be the first to tell you that even much of what he fixed wasn't fixed as perfectly as possible. Thus, in Despecialized 2.0, he's fixing his previous fixes to be even better. Many of Harmy's Viewers didn't even notice some of these things.
I hope that helps.

Harmy,
The new dewback seems much darker in contrast to the surrounding area and seems to have a feathered edge around him, especially around the saddle area. Is this a side-effect of blending the sky around him?
Also, when comparing this to the next shot as they walk into the cantina (where you repaired the dewback shake), the colors/contrast there seem to match the 1.0 version a little better than this new, darker version.
Comparison:
Love watching your process, BTW. It's like a little Christmas every time I see you've posted a new clip. :) The new Falcon approach is killer.

Also, you probably already know about this, but just in case, here's another change I noticed recently:

Good news about the harddrive! Hope everything will work fine now, and that Adobe's software won't be so picky.

Yes. I just checked the 2006 SE DVD, and it's green in there, so I'm guessing that's one of the changes made along the way.

Well, you know, as long as you're in there blacking out all the detail in Vader's TIE fighter wing, you may as well make the fire green while you're at it. It's hard work trashing a classic.

Ha, yeah, kind of what I was thinking. It just seems like meddling for meddling's sake at that point.
There are so many changes that make you go, "but...why?" Then I think about the Jabba scene, and I am reminded of the level of sacrilege that we're dealing with. :)
Glad to contribute.

This space for rentThere were some weird color timing changes in the recomposited Death Star battle. Never noticed the green fire trail before, but I did notice the very saturated orange, pink and purple explosions with no whites in the highlights (cousins of the '04 Tantive blaster impacts?). Look at Red Leader's crash, for example. It's worse in the '04, but you can see it to a lesser extent in the 97SE (even the Empire of Dreams clips which seem to be timed closer to the '97 theatrical prints).
It's a madhouse...

A légpárnás hajóm tele van angolnákkal.Just a question, not a call to action...
Why is Jedi the only film in the DE's with the PG rating at the end of the credits? Looking at the discussion about spacing variations in the 1977 Star Wars credits, I noticed the rating screen in some of those screens too.

Han D. SoloSimply because I didn't have it before. I might add it to all v2.0s.

A légpárnás hajóm tele van angolnákkal.OK. I can see both sides of including/excluding it, but I lean slightly in favor of including it. It would add the extra icing on the cake if someone shows the DE in an actual theatre (private showing, naturally).

Han D. SoloIt's gonna be relatively low bitrate, (sth. like 4Mbps) so it should play on weaker computers.
