Just checked MySpleen on the off chance I could just attempt it... it mentions the 1.0 versions are depricated. Is this true for Jedi as well? Am I looking at the right thing?
Well the 2.0 versions of ESB and ROTJ are still a way's off. I'll update the description to make that clearer. But 1.0 of Star Wars is clearly deprecated; the 2.0 is nearly done and blows it out of the water.

CatBus means - next in line to start. The project itself should still take a while, people, though maybe not as long as SW2.0 did.

Padawan LearnerI just watched the AVCHD of ROTJ & was wondering something. Have Shaw's eyebrows been redone? Because they look perfect to me! I was wondering, cause I seem to remember them looking more like animation when I first saw Harmy's Depecialized ROTJ & now they look great. Personally I'm having a hard time imagining a 2.0 of this & Empire! They seem perfect to me as they are! Just curious about Shaw's eyebrows though.

Han D. SoloThere was never any other version of this, so this is the version you must have seen before. The eyebrows are a little wonky and will be addressed in v2.0.
And ESB and ROTJ can definitely use a v2.0 improvement of A) picture quality (same kind of improvement v2.0 of Star Wars got) and B) Theatrical accuracy. Because this time around I will not stop until some of the shots I was unable to despecialize in v1.0 are despecialized. Like the Rancor compositing in ROTJ or the snow battle compositing in ESB.

Hello Harmy.
I admire your work De Specializing the movies a lot.
This is how Star Wars was meant to be, also I dig it more than other fan-edits while putting a lot of work into it, they are simply overdone. Almost going towards the Lucas' kind of direction.
Any way, while enjoying it a lot. I'm the kind of guy when talking "original" I mean reall original and I usually spot microscopic color deviations, others wouldn't even realize at all. Here are a few things that need to be adjusted, those differences are pretty obvious, so please change them:
The color of the party-ship is grey in the original (you reverted R2D2 back to gray), in your DeSpe it's as red as in the SE! Please return to grey. Or reduce the artificial looking shimmer that makes it look too much like plastic.
- - -
The Falcon is just as green in your DeSpe as it is in the SE.
Please, please return it to a neutral grey (warm grey) as in GOUT.
Also the planet needs to a bit more red. It almost seems as if there is a bit of green tint all over the picture. Just reduce green a notch and shit a bit towards blue/purple on the Falcon. Thanks
- - -
3rd change. Totally green is a mild summer blue now?
This change is so obvious that I may ask what was the reason to it?
Why not making it green. The planet IS green after all (in every other shot)
Also while looking nice, I think brightness must go down a bit. It indeed looks nice but It also highlights model borders too much?
- - -
If theres one thing I can't stand, it's when starships or walls have an obvious tint that was not meant to be there.
You can also take another quick look at your Falcon in the DS hangar in SW. While basing on a old source, there is a obvious kind of blue/green or pink tint on top that seems out of place. I think the color simply comes from the wear of old material. Maybe Im wrong
Thanks a lot.

Han D. SoloDude, maybe it's just me, but that post feels like a very polite executive giving orders to an employee. The fact that those shots have these colors in the GOUT doesn't mean that they're correct or they look like in the original and since I had no other reference, I was usually aiming for consistency.

Padawan LearnerPointing out things one "can't stand" doesn't really seem like constructive critisism to me..
And what can be refered to as original? Vhs? Gout? LD? Can theses sources really be trusted as 100% representative of the original theatrical version which these releases aim to replicate?

I am ready for the trials!Yeah, somehow between all the "please" and "thanks" BuddhaMaster comes off kinda dickish... but in writing your never know.
And I have to agree, Harmy, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??? ;)
Also it's you own fault Harmy: Now after the 2.0 (or 2.1, respectively) everyone expects perfection from you. :p

Padawan LearnerAnd while you're at it, can you up the cowbell? I notice microscopic changes in musical timbre and I know there was cowbell in the opening sequence.
K? Thanks.

I'm sure it's not intentional, but...

He might not be a native speaker of English. I've noticed some (I repeat, not all) non-native speakers (unintentionally, in many cases) come off as brusque and demanding.

Maybe, but it seems like the fundamental disconnect is that he didn't grow up with Star Wars.
When I was a child, Star Wars was as much a part of my upbringing as any of the more traditional fairy tales.

Not even Harmy's bowel movements are safe from criticism now that he's a celebrity.
(I must add that Fruit Loops turn my shit green, so if you've been eating a lot of those lately, cutting back may do the trick)
