what's up with the dark stripe at the bottom?
Where the watermark was painted out, I would say. Maybe not quite what Harmy was looking for, but a valiant attempt. :) I thought maybe the ones I made were a waste of time when I saw Nero's after I made mine. Heh.

And thanks for giving it another shot, Nero, the spine is centred better in yours but the darkened stripe at the bottom is still there and it ain't no drop shadow either ;-)

OT's bucketbotI tried moving just the cover to the left a bit, but I don't see how I can do it. :p Every time I try to move it, it moves the whole box. I might figure it out someday...

@ Infrared Sight
I sent you a PM.
The changes that George Lucas has made over the years to Star Wars is the equivalent of someone keying your car. On an intellectual level, you know that the car still works, and its only marred a fraction of a percent of the paintjob. On an emotional level, every time you see it, it's all you can focus on, and it makes you want to rip someone's face off.

As you wish!Oh now I noticed how it created a big ass black thing down there. Damn got fooled by the watermark anyway. Well good that it got sorted.

Restart your downloader and then punch the start button at the top left. It worked for me.
I have watched the first 50 min of the movie and it looks so very nice. Problem is that at about 53 min, my old Panasonic BR player freezes up and the picture goes all pixely. I try to jump chapters ahead but they all freeze and then the movie stops.

I cleaned my disc and I think it plays fine now. How are you...?
Harmy, on my television, the first shot of the rebel fleet is almost totaly without color. Other points in the movie are just a bit towards the yellow side. My TV's not adjusted that well, so it could be that. Anyway the color is so much nicer than the unnatural look of the special editions. Warmer perhaps.
The Lapti Nek scene looks better than I thought it ever could. Nice.
The sarlac pit is very good too. I can see your work in one or two spots, but its a massive amount of work you have done and it's just great how it all blends together.

I think I see a special edition alteration left in, Harmy. I know this is probably something you already know, but the floating skiff at 30:24 is bobbing around, where in the original, it seems to be still. Admittedly this is an insignificant thing and I guess you probably left it in because it would be to difficult to change it, and for little gain.
Just a observation.
Can't wait till you do your final polish with the Blu-Ray footage. Your version of the trilogy will be all we ever need. Spread the word.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityThat's a pretty neat picture, CoH! I don't even care for Fett and I think that's cool. I especially like that the artist has all of the buildings from the SE flythrough in the right places! ;-)

Keeper of the Taco SandwichHaven't watched the whole thing, but after skimming it I must say it looks incredible!
I have only one nitpick so far. Anakin's eyebrows look kinda blurry compared to the rest of his face. Of course I realise this is due to the quality of footage available, and not your skills as an editor. It looks as good as it possibly can, and the integration of the footage was done flawlessly. It just looks a tad bit off for an HD face to have low-res eyebrows.
But anywho, this is definitely the disc I'll reach for when I want to watch Jedi.

Just finished watching this and it was great! I am not an expert on Star Wars like some other people are, but I do know my fair share. This version that you have created is just like I remember watching my vhs tapes growing up. Everything looks as close to the theatrical that I could notice, and with Star Wars and ESB to go along with ROTJ, I can now show people the greatest theatrical version trilogy of all tiime. Thanks for your great efforts Harmy! Well done!

I noticed the same thing while skimming through the film looking at the various "despecialized" moments. I thought at first it was partially a tracking issue, but looking at it again it would seem that you're right, and that the discrepancy is simply a result of the available source material that Harmy had at his disposal.
Similarly, Anakin's force ghost seemed to me to be slightly blurrier than Yoda and Obi-Wan, but again, given what Harmy had to work with, I doubt anything else could have been done, with the possible exception of solely using GOUT footage during these shots. While this might make everything within a single shot look more consistent, I'm sure it would introduce new problems by not blending in well with any preceding/following 720p shots.
It'd be nice if the upcoming blu-rays contained these deleted shots in hi-def so that Harmy and others could use them, but I'm not holding my breath.
