The Xhonzi's are going, appropriately, Star Wars this year!
I am going as Dagobah Luke with my 3 month old son ("Baby Yoda") in my blue burlap backpack.
My 6 year old son is going as Darth Vader, except for at school and church where masks aren't allowed so he's going there as "Luke's vision of his own face under the mask of the phantom Darth Vader."
My 4.5 year old daughter is going as CinnamonBun Leia.
My 3 year old daughter is going as RD22 (Ardee-Tutu). Get it. Tu-tu? This is actually pretty cute, she calls him "Ardeetoo" and when the older kids tell her it's "R2-D2", she says, "No, I'm not Ardee-Tutu, I'm Ardeetoo!"
And my wife... it's come to attention that there is a dearth of good female characters in the Original Trilogy. So... she's going as Hanna Solo. Or "Generic Female Smugler of the Star Wars Universe." Or, since she's wearing a red wig... and we've been reading Zahn's trilogy for her first time... Mara Jade.
Anyways, we have them all done because we had our first halloween party last weekend. I'll have to post some pictures when we get some good ones.

We're wearing our Ren Faire costumes my wife made over the summer (a preview pic from the faire we made it for):
We spent a lot of time and money on making those outfits to not wear them!

Yeah, Gideon (the six year old) is pretty Star Wars savvy, but I'm sure the meaning of the scene is completely lost on him. I came up with the Phantom Darth Vader bit, but I'll have to ask him if he thinks he could be that or if he is simply Darth Vader missing his mask.

Ultimately rejected ideas were:
He-Man, She-Ra, Skeletor (w/chainsaw hand), Evil Lynn, Orko, and Baby He-Man
Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Chipettes and Dave (w/chainsaw hand)
Rocky and Bullwinkle (w/chainsaw hand) and Boris and Natasha and ??? and ???
Transformers (one with a chainsaw hand)
But we somehow settled on:
Leonardo, Michelangelo, Rainbow (new "pink" female turtle) and Diamond (new "purple" female turtle). Oh, and Mrs. Xhonzi is going to be April O'Neal and I will be Shredder (no chainsaw hand... how did that happen?) I wanted to be Krang and make my 15 month old be the little pink squishy head, and I could be the big dumb robot... but my wife thinks that would have worked better last year. :(

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityThis year I think we're going back to our Asian costumes, my wife as a geisha, me as a ninja. I wanted to be a Star Trek Red Shirt, but my wife pointed out that the high schoolers whose dance we are supposed to be chaperoning already think I'm a Super Nerd.
I'm just bummed that I won't be able to have my ninja sword with me at the school!

of Earth.My team at work did 'corporate ninjas' a couple years back. We wore shiny black shirts, black slacks and red 'ninja-sash like ties' but I think we just looked like TGIFridays waiters with ninja hoods on. Also, the ninja hoods we got at the store looked like burkas.
But I was able to wear my plastic sword to work. And wear my face obscuring mask, which is a little odd given the high security environment in which I work.
