As I said in some other thread. Hayden's portrayal of Anakin was perfect according to how Lucas wrote him.
Prequel Trilogy was supposed to be a story about a good man turning bad. In reality, it is a story about how a complete jerk (PT Anakin) turned into one of the best characters in film history (OT Vader)

The second thing I hate about PT is droid army and clone troopers. I really hate those two aspects. The droid opponents make the whole thing even more soulless. The same thing applies for clone troopers. The clones are just boring and lack diversity. The galactic population was mostly uninvolved in the conflict. It makes the whole conflict completely dull.
When I heard Obi-Wan talking about Clone Wars in ANH I imagined it was a casual and interesting conflict that got a name after some sort of cloning incident. I was of course disappointed when I saw PT...

Ce n'est pas DuracellEnergizerThe droids would have been fine if they had been competent, cold-blooded killing machines. Same with the clones, had they not been played by CG cartoons sharing the same Maori guy's head.

"Take Me To Your Cinema"errgghhhh!
This has freaked me out...

I realised Lucas was referencing Leni Riefenstahl in TPM but I've never noticed this before. I can't unsee it.

I am ready for the trials! It was a missed opportunity not to make the droid army relatives of this guy.

As it stands, the regular battledroids were totally ineffectual and about as threatening as a talking toaster. (TCM invented a more lethal variant just to make up for their lameness.) The only time they actually killed any Jedi onscreen was in the arena battle in AOTC, and even then I doubt they could have done it without the other models.
The super battledroids were kind of cool, until they actually spoke in ROTS, and were revealed to be even dumber than their cannon fodder cousins.
Sidious probably could have taken over the galaxy sooner if he'd talked his minions into just building millions of droidekas.

Yes any Olympic coverage or US election campaigning is textbook Riefenstahl. This a very interesting 3hr documentary about her:

Objectively, one of the 2 or 3 most talented film directors of all time. But she allowed that talent to be used for evil. Using her camera to make a pathetic little man look like a conquering emperor.

I am ready for the trials! No debate about that. And that's probably the doc I've seen about her. In any case Lucas isn't the first to steal her camera angles, and certainly not the last...

IIRC, a lot of the actors playing imperials in the OT had previous roles in WWII films, and they weren't playing the good guys! Talk about typecasting.

More fans seem to dress as Imperials rather than Rebels for some reason. Is it because the bad guys have cooler outfits?
Only in our universe is this a cool sight, and not one instilling fear and dread.

Well to be honest, they certainly had the best looking uniforms in that era.

The imps in Star Wars have better looking uniforms, ships and vehicles. Not to mention Sith looks intimidating, badass and cool. While Jedi look boring and ridiculous, like some monks. Just who would want to be a monk? :)

Did it have PAL speedup? lol
I always wonder if movies I own on Blu-Ray now, are 4% more boring than when I watched them as a kid?
ANH for example is about 10 minutes longer now than when I used to watch it! :-(

"Take Me To Your Cinema"I was reading that Lucas (With permission) almost 100% copied the probe droid design for ESB from a droid Jean Giraud Moebius drew for his 1976 comic 'The Long Tomorrow'. His work isn't that easy or cheap to come buy, I've got some books like 'The Incal' but not that one.

Does any body have it or a link to a scan of the relevant robot. I would love to see how it compares (btw the image below ain't it).

Some other Moebius art like or about SW...

Also has an image space ship reference from Mobius in the Droids cartoon.

Magister Pontifex MaximusIt's as similar as some Martian Tripod designs from War Of The Worlds covers.
The whole walking war machine concept in ESB is straight from H.G. Wells.
Even the title Star Wars is a riff on the same theme.

One of the things I hate the most from EU are Unknown Regions. It is just a dumb concept. The size and location of Unknown Regions is quite ridiculous.

Yeah why haven't they known them yet?

TV's Frink got me into the dark side of the force!Does knowing about the "unknown regions" make them known unknown regions? Or does the knowing about the unknown region negate the unknown factor making them known again? Or is there a complete knowingness of the unknown regions that makes it possible for the unknown regions to remain unknown? Or does simply making them "unknown" regions make them regions of indescribable thought? Or does "making them" unknown regions imply a level of "knowing" about the region in question? So does that in effect negate the "unknown" factor? Or does making a conscious thought to make them "unknown" essentially mean that you're making the decision to block yourself from that information? But then just knowing that the region is there in the first place kind of makes it so that you know about the unknown regions. So does that negate the title? Or does the simple desire to know more about the unknown regions give weight to the "unknown" title?
Huh? Oh hey, wait a sec, I was drinking something just a sec--
Oh! Guys, guys! Do you guys know this show called "Chuck"? It's a fantastic show! I really enjoy it! I hope it has at least 10 seasons!!! :D
