I just bought this:

for $3 at a local antique shop earlier today. I've been grinning ever since.

Whether you love or loathe Duke Count Dooku, Christopher Lee rocks.

Bloody hell SilverWook! (What are you doing to me).

When I saw your post I instantly had the thought that you'd put that up because Lee had died and I'd missed the news. I felt all sick in my stomach and crestfallen for a few moments.

What a relief that it was just a random Sir Chris rocks post!

Love that bit from the LOTR 'Making off' where Peter Jackson sounds a bit scared because Lee was telling him exactly what sort of sound a person actually makes when you plunge a knife through their lungs from the back.

You just stumbled on a gold mine! Those are amazing!

Looks like one of them has been out there a little as evidenced here.

It was also referenced by Steve Sansweet in this book.

As well as in an issue of Starlog:

Some posters have never even been released, and that makes them worth even more. "The Star Wars pre-production poster we have for sale has generated a lot of interest," remarks Jack Wolffers of Richard Wolffers Auctions. Inc. The rare Star Wars poster is a hot item because it features an early advertising slogan which was discarded in favor of the now famous "In a galaxy far, far away..." One wonders if this proposed slogan, "First, Buck Rogers. Then, Flash Gordon. Now, Luke Skywalker," would have been nearly as effective.

The black/white artwork reminds me of the records:

Didn't do an exhaustive search but I don't think this is mentioned in the Star Wars Poster book.  and the slogan is blanking on http://www.starwarsmovieposter.com

Just give me 1/2 an hr to have a play in that room. Saw a few of these at an exhibition in London years ago.

Here's what the PT version of that shot would look like...

But seriously, TPM actually had some amazing models, props and costumes.

I will always love that the Blockade Runner is bigger than the Star Destroyer. Movie magic.

Also, look at how BLUE the TIE fighters are. BLUE.

The Models are fantastic. I wouldn't know where to start if I was in there? The agony of choice!

Yes, Ryan, the joke is known. http://i.imgur.com/MINRv.jpg

Interesting to see another shot from, evidently, the same shoot. Although some of the models are different/have moved.

I'd skip right to the back (Straight past the Falcon) to see the fine detailing on lesser known models like the medical frigate.

Those are awesome!

I like how the Greedo figures' eyes are in different positions on each one and make it look like he is spinning his eyes.

The R4-D5 and R2-D2 ones are unsettling lewd, they give me the unpleasant feeling that a Droid is wagging its crotch in my face. :(

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by JJ Abrams, from a script by Little Miss Sunshine writer Michael Arndt. Lucas will serve as a creative consultant on the new films.

To quote Vader "NOOOOOOOO!"

He's not directing, he's not writing dialogue.

So, he's right where he's good.

It was always expected that Lucas would creatively consult, no?

Quite frankly, I think JJ and Kathleen will not allow any of Lucas' awful ideas compromise the film. What can George do if they refuse to incorporate his ideas?

At the same time I think George is too lazy to have anything more than basic, passing input. Plus, they'll be filming in England and other places so definitely George won't be around the set.

Nobody puts together an action sequence the way Lucas does. It's his niche. Let him handle that stuff.

All I really want is each film as it was originally seen and heard in theaters; no fixes, corrections, "improvements" or modifications necessary.
