I am ready for the OOT!Adventure time is great. I watch it with my kids whenever I get a chance.
But yeah, I don't think it's really inspired by Star Wars in any way.
You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Oh yeah, seen that one. I have seen them remembering Mom though, I think it was when they were attacked by those little sweet thingys and Jake and co pretended to be hurt in battle against them so's not to hurt their feelings.
But back to subject, it dosnt bare any resemblance to Star Wars.

One final detour, I also wanted to point out that Marcelene is ancient and only her and the Ice King have been shown to be alive before the Mushroom War. And yes, I also see no correlation between Adventure Time and Star Wars. =P

Han D. SoloSo, is it ok to discuss any topic in this thread as long as I say at the end that I don't think it has anything to do with Star Wars? ;-)

Here's a question I'm eager to get your thoughts on, everyone:
Who would win in a standrad regulation boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Chewbacca? Both would be boxing in the prime of their careers. (No weapons. Ali wears boxing gloves but Chewbacca doesn't.)
Please send your answer and why!

Muhammad Ali never had the strength to 'rip someone's arms out of their sockets'. and you've given Chewie an additional advantages by being able to compete without the gloves. Plus Chewie's got easily a foot additional reach. Ali would get called for hitting below the belt too many times and would be disqualified.
Winner : Chewbacca, the Wookiee

Love that Superman comic--how did I never know about that?!
Thanks, also, to anonymous replier above who favors Chewbacca. I want to agree, but I think that Ali's speed in his prime might be tough for Chewie to dodge. Thoughts?

Advanced Padawan LearnerI don't think this needs its own thread since there are not that much people here who are interested:
The "Thrawn Trilogy" by Timothy Zahn comes as an audio play to Germany. "Heir to the Empire" comes in four parts, part one starts on 08/17/2012, the next parts come every two months.
You can listen to 1 1/2 minutes from part one featuring Thrawn and Pellaeon (and some nice action) here: http://www.starwars-union.de/nachrichten/12422/Thrawn-Hoerspiel_Hoerprobe_ist_jetzt_online/
I, for myself, am excited as hell...

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTI'm very interested, but my computer speakers are messed up at the moment. I'm assuming this is in German. I wish it were in English, as the Thrawn trilogy is my favorite story outside the OT.

Advanced Padawan LearnerYes, it's in german. That's why I assumed it's not that interesting for you guys here.
The same guy who made this play, made "Labyrinth Of Evil" and "Dark Lord" by James Luceno a couple of years ago. He got all of the german actors who dubbed the Star Wars Movies (except the original voice of Vader. The actor, Heinz Petruo, died in 2001), original Soundeffects and the music by John Williams.
The new play has the same quality, he even got the actor who dubbed C-3PO in the original Trilogy, who was changed by Lucasfilm for no reason in the Prequels and TCW.

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTWell, on the plus side, something like this might motivate Americans to do the same. I like audio books, but I also like dramatizations. I would love to hear this acted out in German's widely spoken cousin tongue

Ce n'est pas DuracellEnergizerThe Old Republic was formed in 25,000 BBY, not 1000 BBY.
Lightsaber technology did not exist when the Dark Jedi who would become the Sith came to be; the Jedi at that time used alchemically-enhanced swords.
Modern lightsabers did not exist in 5000 BBY; the Jedi used archaic lightsabers with cords connected to external power packs worn at the hip, while the Sith used crystalline broadswords.
Jedi are not limited to blue & green lightsabers, and Sith/Dark Jedi are not limited to red lightsabers; an unlimited number of lightsaber colours and hues are available to Force-users, regardless of their respective affiliations.
Jedi tend to eshew the use of lightsabers as they grow older and attain the rank of Jedi Master, choosing to rely sole on the Force when in battle.
The leader of the Old Republic was called the president, not the supreme chancellor.
Jedi apprentices are called Jedi apprentices, not padawans.
Darth is not a title used by the Sith; if there were other Sith other than Vader with Darth in their names, it was because their mamas and papas thought it would make for a good name.
The Jedi use the Force for defense, never for attack.
Jedi Knights/Masters are allowed to train more than one apprentice at a time.
Palpatine was a young man when he became a senator (and eventually president) not a middle aged man.
The Sith are not limited to two members at a time.
Anakin was a cunning warrior and a good friend, not an unremarkable asshole.
The Jedi are allowed to socialize with their parents, to fall in love, to marry and have children, to be part of a real family.
Boba Fett was the alias of a man named Jaster Mereel who was exiled from his homeworld for killing a fellow Journeyman Protector (a type of police officer); he was not a clone of Jango Fett, and not a Mandalorian (though he did come to wear a suit of Mandalorian armour later in life after becoming a bounty hunter).
Yoda did own a lightsaber at one point, but it was yellow, not green, and he had stopped using it long ago and had passed it on to an apprentice named Qu Rahn.
The Clone Wars occurred prior to 35 BBY, not 22-19 BBY, and the clones fought against the Republic, not for it.
Children are called children, not younglings.
Palpatine was a self-taught dark side sorceror, not a Sith.
Palpatine's withered appearance in ROTJ is the result of decades of dark side use taking its toll on his body and causing it to prematurely age and decay, not from deflected Force lightning melting his face.
The Jedi Purge occured decades after the Clone Wars ended, not during them.
The Jedi Purge was an event that spanned a lengthy amount of time - possibly years - not some brief assassination that spanned mere hours.
Palpatine would never have Force-sensitive children killed, as they would be vulnerable to indoctrination, and could be made to serve him as Dark Jedi agents within his Empire.

I agree with all of this.
The illusion is complete. It is reality, the reality is illusion, and the ambiguity is the only truth. But is the truth, as Hitchcock observes, in the box? No, there isn't room; the ambiguity has put on weight. --Gavin Milarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
