It's true. To 005 you listen.
I'm too busy at the moment, but I have a question for the board at large when I get time to peck it out. The point, you may ask? It will be titled in Yodaspeak.
It's just a reference to a post I'm going to make, with a Yodized title. I'll work on it today.

that was pretty cool. A little weird, but the battle scene between the Enterprise and the Death Star was done very well. I find the movements of the DS rather weird however.
One question, what was the point of the Jabba scene? Just curious

Speaking of which, what the hell was Luke's plan for rescuing Han? As much as I love ROTJ, I've never been able to make any sense of the plan.Gaffer Tape said:
I made a video trying to figure that out. It's the greatest thing ever, according to 005

Jabba's refusal to bargain with Luke gains him nothing and ultimately results in the loss of everything. Was he a criminal mastermind or an idiot?
My head is about to explode :o
I just go with the plot. However, Jabba did look like he had been smoking crack in every scene
Having thought about it for 24 hours, I still can't work out what Luke or Jabba where trying to do. However I did think of something else. Vader already used Han as bait to trap Luke on Cloud City, surely he knows Luke will show up at some point and attempt to rescue Han from Jabba, so why doesn't Vader just show up at Jabba's palace and wait for Luke to show up? Or even better, why doesn't Vader pay Fett not to deliver Han to Jabba so Vader can set up another trap for Luke at an Imperial controlled location?
This means, there is no logic to anybody's actions in the 1st 3rd of the movie. However, as WhatsMyName says it's probably best if we ignore this and just go along with the plot.
That's my final thought on this subject, tomorrow I shall share my random thought about the Sarlacc.

I just wanted to show Jabba in control of the Deathstar, instead of the same ol' Emperor.
The DS moved 'rather weird' because it had cover the Klingon warbird, so that its weapons would seem to be fired by the DS.
I might put up a video of all the little odd bits & pieces I made while making the main video. Those would REALLY make you scratch your head.

Magister Pontifex MaximusBack to Jake for a bit was it just Jingle All The Way or was it because he also had a passing resemblance to that kid out of Romeo And Juliet and The Man In The Iron Mask?

Tauntaun herder-Damn Fool Idealistic CrusaderThe whole idiocy of the rescue Han from Jabba beginning of ROTJ was simply George trying to make a serial escapist action packed beginning. As long as Han was rescued it could have very well been anything.

I think it added to the movie. Just a side story. Besides, it introduced key characters such as Jabba and Olif, i think i spelled that right, i need to get my SW dictionary out.

A victim of Lucasfilm's desire to give every freaking background character a backstory.Regardless of how silly the the whole rescuing Han from Jabba plot is, it's over shadowed by another big question.
Which orifice of the Sarlacc do we see?
If it's a mouth then it must have some way of going to the toilet. Does the creature run the entire length of the planet and on the other side is there a hole for waste extraction?
If it's the creatures backside, then is the reason it takes 1000 years to digest its food because its going in the wrong way?
Or is it something more.... feminine shall we say?

Someone need to buy the Empire a watch. During the DS attack:
"Rebel Base 3 minutes and closing." Then two minutes pass and its:
"Rebel Base 1 minute and closing." Then two minutes pass and its:
"30 seconds and closing." Then one minutes passes and its:
"Death Star has cleared the planet."

Reginald ScumConsidering that Mara would have been a maximum of two years old at the time of RotS, I think it's safe to say her omission was a good decision . . .
I always liked Leia with a red lightsaber too--it helps go against that whole 'every bad guy has red and every good guy has blue or green' thing.
And Bobby Jay, now I've got an image of the Sarlaac taking a colossal shist out the other end of the planet seared into my head. Forget ion cannons, the rebels should have just installed themselves a Sarlaac cannon on Hoth and taken out the Star Destroyers with that. lol

Yes indeed. I've always found that to be one of the (old) EU's strong points - moving beyond the films' rather simplistic colour symbology. Blue & green can symbolize darkness and evil just as much as red can, and red can symbolize the complete opposite.
Many people hate the Dark Empire miniseries, and I fully understand the reason why, but when I see Palpatine go up a red saber-weilding Luke with a blue blade I can't help but smile.
