Fans: This film is getting worse all the time!

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityI'm going to break the TF.N quote greenpenguino has found us down, line by line.
The problem with the Adywan's cut is that it is tailored to satisfy the fans (not all fans of course) and ignores Lucas' vision to some extent.Which is generally a valid description of a "fan-edit"
For example, Han shooting first, this is the classic fans versus Lucas issue.Or "revisionism vs history" issue.
Forr example, Adywan's edit sets forth the fan position of Han shooting first, ignoring Lucas' take that Han Solo was not a mercenary. If only the studios hadn't forced him to shoot Greedo in cold blood in the original cut! They didn't? Lucas wrote, directed, and edited that scene from two separate filming locations, and kept it that way for 20 years without complaint? Weird.
I agree that 2004 DVD scene looks odd and out of place and the original scene flows much better.Yes. Yes it does.
However a true "fix" in a future edition should not be replacing the old scene but to completely redo the scene, remove the weird frame jump, etc., so that Lucas' vision is fulfilled.Fix what? Who suppressed his vision? I literally grew up with Han shooting first, and it only strengthened his character for me.
who knows what is Adywan's take on TPM, in his edit he might just give the fans exactly what they want and completely remove Jar Jar, ignoring Lucas intent for Jar Jar beyond the comedic aspects of the character.Again, talking of intent. Where did this intent lead? For Jar Jar to vote emergency powers on the Chancellor in Episode II and disappear afterwards? Anyone could have done that.

Double standards!!You forgot to mention the use of Lucas' Vision.
FAIL
Edit: But seriously, well done. That was pretty much what I was thinking when I was reading it. Don't ask me why I was on there though. It's a disturbing and terrifying tale...

I was always use to Han shooting first. I loved one of the Tales Comics i read. C3PO was representing Greedo's mother who was suing Han for shooting Greedo in cold blood.
Basicallly, it was trying to prove if Han shot first or if Greedo did.
But when i saw the scene edited, i didn't really care for it. It was good, but not neccesary and it did look weird having Han's head move back and then forth in a fraction of a second.
Only thing with the SE's i disagree with...That and the Emperor's conversation with Vader in ESB when he says be believes Luke is the son of Anakin Skywalker and Vader already knew it in the beginning.
Of course, that was the same line from the novelization which in a way, made me accept the scene.

Magister Pontifex MaximusDo Sith Lords ever sue their apprentices if they refuse to use red lightsabers?

i think the red lightsaber is just a symbol of the Sith. You see a red saber you automatically think: "It's a Sith". kinda like that debate on whether or not all the Empire's lasers should be green and the Rebel's be red.

Personally I would never consider purchasing a blaster or a lightsaber unless it has an option to change colors. :P

Hilarious. She just ignores Mace and kneels before Vader. And her turn to the Dark Side is still more believable than Anakin's!

Magister Pontifex MaximusThe girl has clearly watched the films and learned that you get nowhere fighting Sith Lords, confusing them by not fighting is always much more effective.
Half of the on-screen Sith were fallen Jedi Academy Graduates or ex-staff.
Every other Jedi, bar one, died and he was personally tutored.
Jedi Academy...bah! One Hand Academy more like.

The Lucas arts logo is what he's referring too.
And whoever puts down the X-Wing series are idiots. That was definitly one of the best series of star wars i've ever read.
