In Ep. VI, after the rebels are forced out of the bunker at gunpoint, I spotted what appears to be a rebel in a scout trooper uniform (minus the helmet). He's already waiting outside with the other captured rebels, holding his hands above his head. I've made a few screens to point him out:

If you compare with a previous scene from Ep. VI, you can see he really is wearing a scout trooper uniform:

I've been wondering what the story for that rebel is, but haven't been able to find anything that sheds further light on this, e.g. no mentioning of a deleted scene with a disguised rebel or so.
Does anybody here know anything more about this? Ideas? Might this hint towards another as of yet unknown deleted or never filmed scene?

Holy cow how had we never noticed this before?
Definitely gives some ideas for ROTJ fanedits.

Nice, doublefive, thanks for the info. And here I thought I had really found something new... ;)
Still leaves open the question: has any of that (Nik Sant capturing the Scout Trooper etc.) ever been filmed?
And: Why did he chose to disguise himself as trooper, specifically?

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityIt's actually in the film, he walks up to the trooper immediately after capturing him and starts taking off his uniform.sansmalrst said:

Hmm, not in any of my copies. You just see him put his gun aside.
Would be interesting to know for certain if any as of yet unseen footage has been filmed as part of this.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming... Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityForgot about that one. We don't NEED to see more than that. It's one time where RotJ actually doesn't hold your hand and lets you discover things for yourself years afterwards.Gaffer Tape said:

BTW: That poor rebel. I know what I smell after a few hours in my biker scout uniform. I don't want to imagine what it would be like if I had to wear a uniform worn by another guy for a few hours...

Jedi KnightThis is one of those details I always remember noticing and finding really cool. That guy had his own little subplot going on in the background! I'm surprised that so many never caught this. Even on VHS I noticed this.

what most haven't noticed though are a few Rebel style rifles hanging on a wall on the Death Star 2 behind a couple of Imperial control operators.

When the rebels enter the bunker watch the very left of the entrance and you can see the rebel now dressed as the Biker Scout and he moves into view and puts the helmet on, then stands there with his hands behind his back on guard.
I've always noticed this.
When the Biker Scout runs around the corner or the bunker after Han; and into the rebels trap; one rebel puts down his gun and walks towards the Scout. Then what follows is what I first wrote.

Summer of 69erSorry, boys and girls, but there is no Nik Sant. It's been your parents wearing that stolen scout trooper armour all along.

Try the Detention block guards confronting the intruders with Rebel blasters. That gets me every time.
I had heard of this disguise and seen the shot but never actually picked it out while watching the film. You just see the other troopers all bunched together in a master shot that doesn't last very long and assume they're all unimportant, like before when they were sent off to go god knows where while the important people bungled catching some scout troopers. Should have just sent in Pruneface. ;)
