We can use your color-corrected cells as a reference when comparing LD, DVD, and BD releases. I can't think of a better reference than a color-corrected scan of an actual 35mm print.

If I have time tomorrow I'll try and see what can be done. While I can't promise they will be accurate as a reference, they will sure be more accurate than the green tinted look they have now.

Ok, I've corrected the film strips as best I could. They were very green so it was impossible to remove all of it. There's still some green there but they look a lot cleaner. I put them on sendspace since I'd really be spamming this thread if I put 23 film strips here. :)

For the color timing of Snow White this might also be useful: Every christmas eve in Sweden they broadcast a compilation of old Disney clips, one of them being from Snow White. All of these Disney clips originate from the days before VHS so my guess is they all have their original color timing. Or at least close to it. Hi, I just saw this new thread about Disney features and wanted to wich you all good luck for your work. I hope I can be of assistance. I'm actually doing a fan project based on Beauty and the Beast putting the theatrical image presentation the the origrinat theatrical workprint presentation (LD) with the Blu-Ray reworked workprint image and the 3D (reverted to 2D) Blu-Ray presentation. I hope it'll work. If anybody wants to help me with that, i'm actually looking for a good skilled digital artist who can rework some images, so I can add some new elements seamlessly to the film itself (contact me in PM for more details about this, please).
For the titles released in BR, did anybody here tryed to "correct" some of the tempered elements (colours and digital artifacts, mostly) with after effects or photoshop ? Maybe it can be done (not just by one person, of course, but still) ?
Anybody wants to give it a try ?

See You, Space Cowboy...I for one would be interested in seeing how g-force's newest script treats these films. I just don't have the resources to try (I lack LD rips a, and b I don't have most of these films on Blu!)

Jedi KnightI'm finding myself confused by Peter Pan.
A quick catch up, there is the 1991 LD transfer, the 1997 LD/1999 Limited Edition DVD transfer, the 2002 Special Edition, the 2007 Platinum Edition, and the 2013 Diamond Edition.
Anyway...
I noticed AntcuFaalb said the 1999 Limited Edition is the last/best edition, but I can't find any screenshots or reviews that back that up. What I've seen is the Limited Edition's quality referred to as shaky.
While each newer release gets a more enthusiastic review, screenshots have led me to the conclusion that the 2002 Special Edition is the last good version.
The '02 SE even with the haloing looks to be an improvement over the '97/'99 transfer with very similar to slightly improved colors(?) And the colors definitely look better and more natural than the 2007 Platinum and 2013 Diamond.
Even more surprising is that the '02 Special Edition looks much sharper than newer versions (even the BD), like they once again overscrubbed the film for the '07 restoration.
Can anyone give me further info on the Limited Issue? I don't have enough info to call the LE the clear winner.
Here I've got some comparison screenshots (that aren't mine):
In order we have the 1991 LD, what is either the 1997 LD or a really soft 1999 LE DVD, 2002 SE DVD and 2007 PE DVD.
The 1991 LD has some surprising color detail not found in subsequent releases. I don't know whether to call it the best for color or just an error in capturing an analog interlaced source.
Is the Limited Edition really that soft or is that another LD cap (the original poster was unclear)?

Slayer of DeaditesNever knew that the 2002 edition existed. Looks fine if not oerfect to me. It seems to be taken from a similar master to the '99 except higher quality, judging by the shots. I think it is oft ignored not because it isn't good but because it's entirely forgotten.

There is dot crawl along the right edge of the second source, so it's from a composite source regardless of whether it's LD or a crappy DVD.

Update on this: some time ago monks19 provided me with a sample from "The Martins and the Coys". I found that SRestore was reasonably successful in producing a 23.976 progressive fps clip. After trying a few different bob filters I eventually settled on YadifMod as the one that gave the best results:
