I’m curious has anyone created a “Dialog, Foley and FX Only” audio track for any of the Star Wars movies? I know there are several Complete Soundtracks which have been included on various Fan Preservation projects as second audio. But having the Dialog and FX might be fun to watch as well.

Plus it would give a chance for other Soundtracks to be inserted. This idea has come to me as I listen to some really dreadful Star Wars recreations. For instance the Meco version of the Ending Theme of RotJ which has some Ewok Rappin’ (Dabu Dabbu Darth Vader…), and I would love to see this track and so many others inserted into the movies just to see how everything plays out if John Williams wasn’t around.

If this hasn’t already been done, it shouldn’t be too hard… in theory. Since people have created the Soundtrack Only versions, there are Audio softwares which should allow for the Soundtrack Only to be “scrubbed/removed/negated” from the Full Movie Soundtrack, leaving the Dialog and FX behind. (I’ve read about music people who use this process to create Acapellas if only the full song and instrumental are available)

If you know of the audio software which could do this and the function name please post the info, i’m not up to speed in audio editing techniques.

EDIT ADDED INFO
Ah i’ve found it, http://www.acapella-heaven.com/ib/creation.php is the tutorial others have used to do this process to music songs.

Above link doesn’t work, bu the wayback machine has an archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20050107015152/http://www.acapella-heaven.com/ib/creation.php

The basic idea relies on the linear superposition of audio. Which is simply: that if you have take a sound, any sound at all, and add it to the inverted version of itself the result will be silence.
