Padawan LearnerOkay,
I started this thread as others were being cluttered with off-topic requests and such. Please post what you might be interested in finding here. We might have folks that have some of these already. Other requests might take time and a little extra effort to obtain so please be aware of these things when asking.

Now, if we have any folks capable of doing the Laserdisc rips of any of these or others it would be greatly appreciated. DTS cinema discs can be harder to come by and harder to work with so if we have folks familiar with these that can help get audio sorted properly that would be most welcome too.
D-Theater VHS audio will also be considered for requests as it seems there is a quiet but growing interest in them as an alternative.
Please "mention" in your post which type of DTS audio you are requesting such as LD, D-Theater, Cinema, and so forth so people can point you in the right direction. I also want to stress that this is information provided freely so that archive/preservation projects have a "go to" thread about this specific audio type. Do NOT request audio that is commercially available as your request will go unanswered for obvious reasons.
Let's see where this goes as it benefits everyone. Sharing is caring.
Cheers!!!!
Just a note ......
BIG HUGE THANKS to borisanddoris, ElDonante, Silverwook, CapableMetal, and others who have inspired, worked on, and helped in some way to spark folks interest on this matter. WITHOUT them we'd still be wondering and waiting for such preservations. You ALL rock in my book.

I am ready for the trials!Mortal Kombat, as the Blu Ray audio is pretty weak compared to the Laserdisc.

Padawan LearnerIt's been relisted but there is no way I can afford 80 Euro for this collection, though it looks like there might be some cool discs in there. I wonder if they're english or all French(?).

Thanks! Just so you know, it really is spelled "Kombat" with a K. Not that I think there is a similar title in DTS floating around. ;)

Jedi KnightSomewhere I have an HD version of True Lies that was muxed to the D-Theater DTS track.
I don't know if that would fit what you're looking for or not. IIRC there was also a Japan DVD release with the DTS track and it might still be available if you're willing to brave Amazon.co.jp.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-VHS#D-Theater
There used to be several other of the D-Theater DTS tracks floating around at HDBits.org if that is of interest.
Edit: Apologies, I'm assuming there is a particular reason you're looking for laserdisc rips in particular since I'm having no trouble finding several of the ones on your list available on DVD or BD releases.

As I understand it:
- Player with SPDIF out.
- Computer with bit-perfect SPDIF in.
- Free software.
Y/N?
For laserdisc I would believe that to be sufficient.
Thanks! Just so you know, it really is spelled "Kombat" with a K. Not that I think there is a similar title in DTS floating around. ;)
Fixed and fixed, sorry for the mistake. :)

Assuming one had an account @ HDBits, it would help. As for the LD rips, yes, folks are looking for them instead of DVD or BD audio due to remixed audio that may not have the same boom or splash it once did on Laserdisc or Theater viewings. Other DTS audio is cinema related and could offer the same and/or better results than the LD audio but it is harder to come by and to work with.
In the end, I thought this topic should have it's own thread to keep other threads on topic. If you come across some D-Theater DTS audio that might be of use here please let folks know. I know I'd enjoy an invite there if anyone has any available ...... ;)

Jedi KnightSupposedly the original DVD release of The Little Mermaid (before the Disney Enhanced Home Theater debacle), had a limited run in DTS.
I'd love to see that surface (pardon the pun).

Padawan LearnerThere are a few D-Theater titles I'd love to see and hear. I just checked out the Alien's Director's Cut on D-Theater and it has the DTS 1.5mbps audio track. It was a cool experience, especially for digital tape, it's the first one I've seen myself.
Keep the ideas coming folks.

I have an DVHS rip of True Lies that supposedly has the DVHS DTS track. I'm hoping someone can get me a myspleen invite I can perhaps rip it and post. The track is pretty beefy and awesome all around. Maybe even better than the Laserdiscs.
Also, does anyone know specifically what computers can do a bit for bit DTS recording? I'm looking into getting a new machine and I'd like to know if they can do this so I can start ripping my countless LaserDiscs. Do any Macs have the capability?

Padawan LearnerI would like to know if we have anyone here on the site who is fluent in the editing of multichannel wav files and audio/video sync that is NOT working on a project already that might be interested in working with some of these to get them out for folks to use?
I realize that not everyone here may enjoy DTS but it would seem we have enough of an interest to start which may open the doors to other things.
Please, serious inquiries only ..... I really want to see this type of preservation be able to help as many as possible.
Cheers
:)

Whatever titles you see in the first post that say (Found) are ones I have. The only one that is not listed because it isn't needed is Monsters Inc..
Actually, I lied, I also have the Jurassic Park Trilogy on Cinema DTS as well including the original Jurassic Park soundtrack that could only be played on the DTS-6 and 6-D. This is the only one I cannot access either as they have the .R1, .R2 instead of .aud or .aue.

Put your requests in a post. If I can find them I will post them as found. Also, IF people have discs that they want decoded for use they could make ISO's of the disc for me to download and I could then retreive the audio and upload it for useage.
