Ok guys, I am looking for the simplest most direct, minimal steps involved, method and software that would allow me to take my 5Star '97 SE dvd's, and also the '06 GOUT DVD's and create a 16X9 or 1080p disc out of them.
I have been looking around the forum, and if there's already info for this, sorry about the rehashing, but I can't find anything.

He appears to mean a non-anamorphic widescreen DVD. Converting to 1080p is a waste of time. For the GOUT, your best bet is to download one of the conversions that have already been done or wait for dark_jedi's new releases. Search the Star Wars Preservations forum.
To answer your question though, the easiest way to do what you ask is to download the free version of DVD Rebuilder, load in your DVD and choose HC mode for your encoder. Then go to
Settings --> Options --> AVS Options --> AVS Expert Options --> Convert LB 4:3 to 16:9

Better Grumpy than DopeyEven easier:
1. Play your 4:3 DVD.
2. Get your TV's remote control and find a button marked "picture mode", "picture size", "zoom mode" or similar.
3. Keep pressing this button until you get the desired image; this will probably be called "zoom" or "cinema" mode or something along those lines.
4. Watch!
