You've just got to include  this one:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/STAR-WARS-EPISODE-III-THE-CLONE-WARS-RECLONED-EDITION/topic/10880/

I hadn't seen that one since I rarely go to the Fan Edit portion of this great forum. Awesome meltdown for sure!! What I don't understand is why was this "Darth Venal" fella banned?

Who is the most foolish, the fool, or the fool which follows it?

Also fought in the clown wars, many years ago..and lost..miserably..

You don't call the RedLetterMedia Review thread a trainwreck?

I won't deny the RLM review thread is extremely entertaining.  But it's more about how far off-topic it goes as opposed to any serious meltdowns.  Also, I want to be very careful about what I list here - I don't want to be seen as mocking any current members.

For those who missed the thread here it is:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/RedLetterMedias-70-minute-Phantom-Menace-Review-yawn-w-h-at/topic/11060/

It does take a bit to get going, but it's well worth a read.

Does this one count?

It's been a while since I read that whole thread, but I don't recall a specific meltdown - in fact, it was Ziggy's one nice contribution to the forum, and didn't he just abandon the thread?

Don't worry though, I'll be making a separate list just for Zig/Ingo.  Feel free to post links to them here if you want to save me a little time.

I could go back and read those... or I could just wait for Frink or Ric to remake them in a new thread...

I have no idea what you are talking about.

I never quite figured that out.  He was being kind of rude and arrogant, but that usually isn't enough to get the job done.  I recall suggesting a thread for the mods to let us know why people get banned, but nothing ever came of it.

Its best to just ignore people like that.

RE: Classic Train Wreck Moments in OT.com History

But ultimately, ignoring them is not always the most entertaining path to take.

At first I thought this thread was kind of dumb, but now I see it was kind of a fun idea. I hereby nominate Fink as OT.com's official chronicler. Feel free to add it to your description you cultist wacko.

EDIT: Of minor note, does anyone else find the greyed out text for banned members to be really annoying and hard to read? I like the idea of pointing out that they have been banned, but you really have to strain to read them, or highlight the text to make it easier.

Well, I can see why there isn't a thread for that sole purpose. What I think would be better is a little notation next to the username or perhaps under the signature area something to the effect of "User banned for trolling", "User banned for rudeness", "User banned for abusing other forum members", etc. etc.

Ferris, I think what you might be afraid of in a thread for telling why people were banned is that fights could break out in it.    If that is so, I have a simple solution: set the thread up so only the mods can post in it.   If the regular members can't post in the thread,  we can't fight in there.

I don't know if this qualifies as a meltdown per se, as it never really gets off the ground: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/And-on-the-8th-day-God-created-socks-that-wont-stay-up-mosquitos-Taco-Bell-and-Letterboxed-DVDs-It-was-not-good/post/244141/#TopicPost244141

Ooh, I want to be that guy!

There is no lingerie in space...

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don't exist... then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks... and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming... Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Dude, it got off the ground the second I read the title of the thread, and the OP was even better.  I admit I just skipped through the political stuff that followed, but the OP was hilarious.  I like the name "Obiwampa" as well.  This has been added to the list, and exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to discover when I started this thread.  Thanks.

Oh yeah, I remember that dumb queefer with the YAGE bullshit thing. What a sad person... but man, we had a lot of fun on her/his dime. Didn't even know what the hell a YAGE was until that thread. Definitely one of those things I could have gone through life never knowing.

Man, that thread brings back memories. I really miss WESHALLPRESERVE, that kid was really cool.

Despite Obi Jeewhyen's bizarre departure, he was usually a great poster on the SW forum. His penchant for the word "frelling" never grew on me, I'll admit.

Yeah, that's a pretty good idea. Lock/unlock it as needed to alert as to why someone was banned, or something along those lines.
