Padawan LearnerAlright,
first of all I apologize if this is an incorrect section or if it was discussed before, but I found this clip only today :-)
If you check this youtube sample
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dk4jGC7Vrao
you see at the beginning various clips of the lost Biggs & Luke scenes which we all have already, but then it continues with something I've never seen before - some BTS shots. I remember seeing only the clip with Luke & Biggs (actually Mark & Garrick is his name ?) sitting and George nervously walking in front of them, in many documentaries. Have you guys seen the rest ? Is the whole film (at least it looks like 8mm to me) in "our" hands and/or preserved ?

I've never seen some of these shots at the end, in any other documentary. It looks like its some sort of source tape of copied cut scenes+film/video? shot on location, that an editor would fast foward through to use in making a documentary. To my eyes the bts looks better than 8mm?
Edit: On a tangent I noticed this the other day in empire of dreams - what looks like a set up for a shot of R2 hiding behind some rocks which makes it look like the Blu Ray 'fix' might have been the original shot they were after in the first place (apologies if you already saw this) : http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=k33ggn&s=5

Some neet stuff if you pause the quick frames. The reverse angle of when Camie grabs Luke's binocs. Marcia Griffin looks a lot like Robin Gurland in this clip. And for one shot there is more top and bottom frame then the 'Behind the Magic' version. Some dirt spots match between versions other shots don't....

Lighting the Sky on FireCoincidentally, I jumped on here to make a new post just for this same footage. I've contacted the guy who put it up, and though he would love to help out he says the footage was not his but from a torrent. He's checking on it to see if he can procure any info on this.
This footage is priceless and amazing. It's a crying shame it's been fast-forwarded through during the recording. I'd give my eye teeth to get hold of the raw version for the Cut Scenes community (and everyone else!).

"Untallented and clueless to the core"I've been speaking to the guy who has the full 12 minute footage. He is going to upload the full version soon. He originally posted this to youtube as a teaser, which is the reason for all the fast forwarding.

This is excellent news. I'm hoping he's posting it in high quality somewhere...

Isn't that just Jambe Davdar's three Star Wars documentaries put together?

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTRegarding the actual 12 minute reel, I hope it contains the deleted portion from Luke and Biggs in Tosche Station where Biggs says, "Third mate Biggs Darklighter at your service," and says he's going to serve on the Rand Ecliptic. I have evidence that this was filmed and not just part of the novelization, and it looks like the officially released version has a pretty obvious cut where that would go.

Yes, the scene was definitely shot. A picture of this scene (where Luke is saluting to Biggs) was released somewhere - the 2004 DVD maybe ?

That photo was posted on Hyperspace (and is unfortunately no longer available to anyone at all - thanks sw.com!), and showed Luke making a mocking salute to Biggs inside the garage at Tosche Station. However, it's not a 100% guarantee that the scene was shot...it could have been an outtake or just some clowning around on set. I'd like to think it's that cut bit, though.

Padawan LearnerI know I have it on some DVD, so I thought it's the official set, but it can be anywhere, maybe OCP's Deleted Magic ?
Anyway, I DO think it's really from the scene, there is a noticable cut just when the dialogue should appear, and the photo was shot on the very same set

Yep, that's what it looks like. So even with his incredible amount of "missing footage", there's still more? Come'on George, spill it all! :)

You know, my "evidence" was indeed that picture, and it's part of my incomplete slideshow for my deleted/alternate/changed project. I didn't want to spoil it because I've got so many cool pictures I'd hate for everyone to know of them all. But I agree with pittrek, there is a noticeable cut and I believe the picture matches the actual footage well enough to not simply be a promo shot or messing around (especially considering the dialogue in the novel where Biggs makes a salute himself, and where Luke could have returned the salute--btw, he's first mate, not third--my mistake). But either way, I too hope it's a real cut picture and not just goofing around.

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTI mean "I'd hate for everyone to know them all yet." I really am hoping to get this project released eventually, and if I spoil all the fun, then, well, the fun is all, um, spoiled. ;) I intend to share everything I have eventually, and if I never get this thing done, I will upload everything I have as is somewhere, including all pictures and clips, just so everyone else can have a go at it. Don't worry. I'm not selfish :)

"Untallented and clueless to the core"Well he has just posted the entire footage. Unfortunately it's only being shared with people on his friends list. We're hoping he will change the settings so others can view.
some really interesting footage. The 2 deleted scenes are the Anchorhead ones. but these are from beginning to end with no fade in/ out. They seem to be the versions that were on the behind the magic CD-ROM with some slight differences. But the behind the scenes footage is pretty cool. It is silent and it is all again from the Anchorhead scenes but does feature a short shot of Luke running into the station and then the gang walking back out. Some shots of Marcia and George, some rehearsing with a droid, a snippet of Koo Stark on set but mainly it's Luke and Biggs in between shooting.
All in all it's pretty cool. It's nice to see new stuff emerging after all these years
EDIT: He has now changed it to public. All credit goes to Jason Eaton for this footage:

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTThis could get taken down quickly, and I'd hate for it to vanish. Could someone please download it? I don't know how to do it because it's a flash video. I could really use the footage for my deleted scene project. Thanks :)

DANGER! DANGER!Ive just snagged it but the frame rate on my capture laggs worse than the original. I changed a lot of settings on the the software and even on my GPU, to no improvement. But anyhow if worst did come to the worst....
Im sure there is better software out there to simply record embedded vid though.
