I am ready for the trials! With the theatrical version of the pilot out on Blu Ray, (IN SENSURROUND!) I hope the series is in the pipeline.
If you haven't seen the theatrical cut of Galactica 1980, it's pretty hilarious.

I am ready for the trials!Yes, now there are two of them! They did a little creative dubbing to explain why Cousin Oliver turned into a different super kid genius. Pity he didn't have any scenes with Mike Brady Dr. Mortenson.
Baltar is seen still pursuing the rag tag fleet (via footage from The Magnificent Warriors) with no explanation as to why he hasn't aged like Adama.
There is a tiny bit of footage not seen in the series with Adama making a log entry in his quarters. A photo of Apollo can be seen on his desk.

Magister Pontifex MaximusI finally got around to seeing Blood and Chrome.
A really bitter sweet experience for me as despite it flaws (it's 'a bit formulaic' a lot) it was a lot better than anything the Star Wars prequels had to offer.
It sort of felt like how I'd imagine season 4 of Caprica might have started.
I wanted to see more of a particular new face and it was weird seeing so many old faces playing 'different' roles in exactly the same way (Ty Olsson didn't really modify his Aaron Kelly performance, though i do like look at him. presumably he is playing his dad or something??).

Wait for me. I shall be merciful and quick. So I completed my run through of Battlestar Galactica a couple weeks ago and just took my first dip into Galactica 1980. So.....I take it a lot of time has passed since the original series. Boomer is an officer now.
Maybe I zoned out or something but who the heck is this Jamie woman? Troy and whatshisface go into town and when they get back that general is searching for them and this Jaime woman is with him. As soon as she gets the chance she addresses Troy by name and knows who they are. I thought she must have been from the Galactica at first but no she's just an earthwoman. When the heck did she meet Troy?
Edit: No wonder I'm confused! Netflix doesn't have the series opener. What the heck!
Join Space Command and then help back Jack Houston and the Necronauts!

I am ready for the trials!Thirty years or so have supposedly gone by. It doesn't jive with the tv broadcast of the Moon landing they picked up in The Hand of God though.
The first episode is on youtube.

Here's something weird. The NBC-universal streaming site has this but it ends when they go to New York. I had never seen it before so, now I'm annoyed. I guess I can just watch the wolfman jack episode since that's more or less where it ended but I wanted to see what other goofy edits were made to make this into a "movie".

Magister Pontifex MaximusThere were a couple of cast duplicates but they were clearly playing very different characters.
Ryan Robbins played two characters in NuGalactica and one in Caprica and none of them remotely resembled each other.
Ty Olsson however was just as his usually lovely self.
