I am right in assuming the majority of so called computer future tech in star wars was just hand drawn or animation ?

Like the torpedo that destroys the death star going into the trench that is animation and not done cgi right ?

Interesting i read Lucas wanted to use cgi a lot more in Jedi but the tech was not there yet, so they only did the death star schematic once again in a computer graphic.

These old school computer graphics don't look like cartoons and they don't stick out like a sore thumb, and are only meant to simulate computer displays, even the holograms were not real holograms or cgi.

Unlike the CGI in the prequels which instead of augmenting actually draws you out of the story and draws attention to itself which is ludicrous, especially since nothing in the prequels story could not be done with traditional effects and filming, the background visuals while nice are not the story.

George himself understood this once upon a time.
