Padawan LearnerHello! AA7 has just been finished! Unfortunatelly Alien EPK turned out to be a fake description, so it'll have to wait for discovery in the future. Most of the AA7 content is from Australia. I'm the only contributor from the newsgroup which is kind of sad, considering how many high profile alien collectors are members and lack the will or resources to locate/share footage. Anyhow, 7 DVDs of unreleased Alien saga promos is quite an achievement and great supplement to the announced Alien Anthology on Blu-ray later this year. When Ash595 finishes the artwork, AA7 will be uploaded and whoever is interested need to contact me via private message for links...

Padawan LearnerAlien Super 8 is an official 17 minute cut made for pre-VHS market. Duration was limited due to the length of 8mm film roll. It is quite interesting brutally edited cut with quite different ending. Also viewer winds up watching noses and hearing off screen characters due to aweful 4:3 zoomed in framing without pan & scan. Channel 7 intro is a short segment with Sigourney talking about Alien as an exclusive for Aliens Austarlian TV premiere. Fast forward is 3 minute Australian parody. There is also elaborate 12 minute parody of Aliens called FRENCH & SAUNDERS and recent Aliens/Avatar SNL sketch as an Easter egg...

Actually this was already an easter egg on AA4, but I guess it's too late for you to do anything about it now... :)
Interested to see what shape your 8mm Alien is in! It sure is tough to get anything watchable out of that release.

Padawan LearnerI thought the super8 version wasn't going to be included? When I sent my original copy over to Junno I had asked to get a DV copy back to do color correcting and cleanup as I couldn't do the transfer myself.

Padawan LearnerAlien Super 8 is from my Australian source and is quite good and much different in quality from the one discussed on the forum. I wasn't aware of FRENCH & SAUNDERS on previous AA disc, but my source is also different so here it is again. Uploading of AA7 will be finished today and links will be mailed to those who sent me a private message. Thanks to Ash595 for quick response and great artwork...

Padawan LearnerI had an idea of doing a visual storybook using the Alien Illustrated Story from Heavy Metal with audio from the film. But I don't really have the time right now. Maybe next year.
