This is an idea I got from Trooperman, I think.
Feel free to cop anything you like. I consider these things open-source projects- I took a lot of other peoples' ideas for my edit and anyone is welcome to do the same.
This edit is looking great. Keep up the good work!

P.S. I really like the idea of putting lounge music in that nightclub. I used a different piece but I really like this one- it's lower key and and sounds "otherworldly". It definitely gives it more atmosphere.
Ha, yeah. I actually used your idea to Blade Runner footage! (I believe you said it was ok.) I did it a little differently, and yet again, completely different music that was brought to my attention by Brash Stryker here on the forum. I have a new idea for that scene but not sure yet if it will work.

Dark Lord of the Pith:
Thanks for your feedback!
And regarding your questions, haha
1. The Neimoidian was never meant to sound scottish. I was just doing a random accent, and as I was re-recording the lines, that one happened to sound Scottish. However, since then, I've opted to dub him with an alien language.
2. Regarding pointy sabers, I'll see. They're not pointy-looking nearly as often as people seem to think they are. And I think they're pointy in an effort to make them look flat (like they do in ANH). But maybe some of the REALLY badly pointy shots, I'll fix 'em.

Yes. Im sorry for offending you aalenfae. I didnt mean to disrespect your work. I thought that everyone here had a goal of working with Mr Adywan. You seem to have a total different perspective. Im sorry im trying to see how things work here :-) Again my appologies and keep up the very good work you are doing.
Sorry, Titus! I didn't mean to imply that you had said something wrong. Don't take anything I say too seriously--I certainly don't!
Anyway, you're new, right? Welcome! To give you a brief explanation of "how things work here," the fan edit forums here at OT.com are full of fan editors who dedicate themselves to re-editing Star Wars (and other) films to conform to their own personal tastes, which range from highly conservative to extremely radical. Adywan, though he has produced some fantastic work, made quite a name for himself, and has undoubtedly inspired several others, is just one of those fan editors. I guess one of the problems with being a longtime follower of any forum is that you start to take things for granted... perhaps that's what I did. Anyway, again, welcome!

Great ScottThanks Captain Antilles. Its almost impossible to read a line without Mr Adywan and his hard work is mentioned :-). The whole thing gave me the impression that Mr Ady is behind many projects of other people at the same time and many people here are doing edits, expressing their ideas towards to Adywan. I always had in mind that he invented the fanedits and everybody else was creating edits with possible ideas to honor him or inspire him. I guess i need to learn more about this site before assuming the wrong side of things :-D Sorry again to aalenfae for wasting his time writing this in his/her topic. :-)

Captain Antillies, what a good man. Couldn't have said it better myself.
But Titus, you are right about something - Adywan, while he didn't invent fanediting, did indeed invent (or at least realize) a new KIND of fanediting. The huge, comprehensive edit that was Star Wars Revisited is indeed inspiring, and a status that many faneditors hope to attain.
So don't sell yourself so short, haha. And you don't need to apologize.
(ps, I am a man)

Jedi KnightAdywan is a great editor but we were editing far before he came:) If you want to find the true godfather of fan editing, I think he would have to be the "Phantom Editor".

Aiya, well, it seems all my updates have been everything BUT RotS lately, but don't worry!
I've just gotten excited about some AotC stuff in recent days. Here's what I've been working on:

Yeah I noticed that before and simply shook my head at the simple lack of continuity. It's a real shame.

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTGood choice, aalenfae. Are you able to adjust mouth movements so it better matches the voice, as it is a bit apparent that that's not what she's saying? If not, it's not too obvious, especially if you'd never seen AOTC before.
The ROTJ collaborative thread is a wealth of ideas, both on how to edit Return of the Jedi, as well as how to collaborate in an edit. Emanswfan has taken leadership of the project.

So glad you took out Jango flying away. It's bothered me in numerous fanedits. No good sniper would give away his position by flying away like that.

Ah, come to think of it... I think I can change Zam's mouth movements to better match the voice. I'll see what I can do!
Yeah, there are just so many things wrong with Jango rocketing away like that. Both for the story and the character.

All of the updates since I've been here last are looking great!
Bar chase scene of Ep 2:
I personally like the music from the first version better.
Have you thought about cutting Anakin's "I am trying" after they enter the bar? It could end on silence after Obi-Wan's line maybe?
I like the fact that we don't see Jango! Great change!

I, too, am leaning toward my first-choice music.
It's a more appropriate track to use as an atmospheric bed to the scene, much like the Cantina music from ANH. My second-choice music is too... sporadic and disorienting. Something that might fit the mood, but not the environment so well.
The smooth jazz piece also sounds more seedy, I think.
I like your dialogue suggestion. There's actually a lot of dialogue there that I'd rather have as silence. I just wonder if we might still see the mouths moving. I'll look into it.
Ah! I've really just realized that my "RotS" thread has started to become an AotC thread. Maybe I'd best rename the thread to "Aalenfae's Prequels" instead?

Oh God, this is the best edit of the Asteroid sequence I've ever seen. This is honestly as good as the scene will ever be.

Great ScottVery nice indeed. I like you kept more mysterious the bounty hunter. If you dont mind i would suggest not show his face at all. only close ups to activate buttons here and there. like when the villains of the bond films doing evil things. :-) The lasers again are too many. maybe cut a few shots to make that he shot him more easily/effective? One last thing is at the start its taking too long to see the ships flying around and doing nothing. Maybe you can make the shots more short? Amazing stuff once again aalenfae

I am ready for the trials!I always hated how all of that laser fire flies in front of the ship. As Jango turns, the lasers would still be heading in the direction they were heading to begin with.
Watching that clip I thought it may be pretty cool if Obi has R4 prepare the spare part canisters before Jango even fires that over the top heat seeking mistle thingy.

How the hell would Obi-Wan know to do that?

Thanks for the high praise, MrInsaneA!
Though I am still tweaking it! :)
Titus, I like your idea about not showing Jango's face at all during the scene. It might work pretty well, and I'll give it a try.
And I think your point about the ships just flying around doing nothing is valid. Watching the clip again, it does seem like they just fly around doing nothing for a little too long. I'll see what I can do.
(And yes, I can't wait until I get some good 1080 footage of "1313" cutscenes. But that'll have to wait until the game's out, probably.)

I'm with Coov, whatever adds cleverness to the characters will ad to the edit. ObiWan would order that to R4 because the moment he gets outside the tunnel he knows he's in a disfavorable position. Think about what han would do.
I just found out about the 1313 game, and it seems to have pretty much of usable or potentially usable footage.
Eric, do you plan to add some music to the asteroid dogfight? I think it would help to build a more drastic feeling of danger.
Greetings!
