Master of the RenascenceI think we should really think about having a team of mods to control trolling and people going off topic. Maybe two or three mods in Fan Edits, Preservation Efforts, and Other Fan Projects, two or three in Star Wars, and one or two for the off topic section of the forums. Some things are getting out of hand and I think it would be nice to have a sense of order around here as popularity has been growing.

New How Know HowI think Asteroid-Man has a point. While we have mods, they don't really do much. Freedom is always good, but it's come to a point where the lax attitude here is definitely being abused by certain (unnamed) members.

The Star Wars you see today is not the Star Wars I grew up with, and I am fine with that, it is just a memory now, something that glimpses of can be seen by peering into boxes stored away in my basement, and that recollections of can be shared with people who grew up with it in a similar was to myself, like many of the people on this board. What more could I ask for?

New How Know HowI'm guessing that means Moth3r and Zion, right?
I believe this was addressed during the adamwankenobi days, before my time. Jay said that he likes the free atmosphere here - but I don't think there were any "trolls" yet.

OldlingIn my experience the moderators step in very swiftly when things get way out of hand, most moderation on here seems to be more informal with people politely nudging a thread back on track when it wanders a bit.
The Mods have a large area to cover and they are more concerned with rule breaking (especially of the kind that brings the site well into the legal danger zone).
The informal nature of the majority of the minor moderation on here adds to the general friendly atmosphere of the place and it would be a shame if it became overly moderated to the point where people became too fretful or nervous to post interesting and potentially useful ideas (and the odd joke here and there).

ACTUALLY, THERE HAD BEEN QUITE A FEW BEFORE AWK. A FEW OF US ORIGINAL MEMBERS TOOK IT UPON OURSELVES TO RUN THEM OFF. JAY HAD TAKEN SOME PERSONAL TIME OFF FROM THE FORUMS. JAY DID EVENTUALLY HAVE TO BAN A FEW OF THEM THAT JUST WOULDN'T GO AWAY.
