Why are you sighing?  Please explain to me how the two situations are different.

RE: 2010 MLB Playoffs

I don't know how to.

RE: 2010 MLB Playoffs

Let's try this...

Frink owns the Seattle Frinks.  He moves them to Oklahoma City.

Frink then buys the Philadelphia Phillies.  Do you still root for the Phillies?

Warbler's avatar
RE: 2010 MLB Playoffs

of course.  The Phillies haven't moved.

RE: 2010 MLB Playoffs

Yes, but Frink owns them, and he moved another team.  So you only care about which "Franchise" moved, and you don't care about the guy who actually made the decision?

If you don't see the disconnect in this, I give up.

ok, you're right *sigh*

Sorry, man. I had to do it.

No more...

How is this pretzel logic?

Fine, I give up.  This is a silly argument anyway.

All of his rules for what's acceptable vs unacceptable behavior for sports franchises. Moving - not ok.  Hiring someone who tortures animals - ok - after they're traded a few years later.  Apparently torture is forgivable, but moving isn't. Even though the owner hiring the piece of ****still owns and runs the team - yet the Giants can't be forgiven - yet it's all a different team other than the name sewn on the jersey.  Ridiculous.

Different team after 50 years - ok.  Different team in different city after 50 years - not ok.  By Warb's rules, the Yankees are to be hated forever because they aren't the Orioles anymore. Same for the Athletics, the Braves, the Nationals, and so on and so on.

Now, if you guys will excuse me, I have a game to watch.  Two sinful teams who changed cities several decades ago.

That's why I follow the Kansas City Monarchs.  They never went anywhere.

one thing to remember,  it is Vick that tortured the dogs, not the owner of the Eagles.  I think that is why I'd be able to root for the Eagles again after the dog murderer is no longer a part of the team.    In the case of the team that moves,  it is the team that commits the sin, and city in which the team moves to.

The Yankees used to be the Orioles?  Huh, I never knew that.   I knew they used to be the New York Highlanders,  but I never knew they used to be the Orioles.

Not even close, man.

*edit*

And speaking of not even close, what the hell is going on with the Rangers?!!  That was just plain ugly in the eighth.  Weird, man.

Day off today...why isn't Feliz pitching the 8th?  Why is no one warming up in case of trouble?  Why aren't I the manager? ;-)

religion plays no part in this, for me anyway.

I swear, I thought they were going to make that same mistake tonight.    Rangers have to feel a little more like themselves now.
