This contemporary recording may be of interest to those who've studied the differences in the 70mm stereo sound mix vs. other mixes and video releases of STAR WARS.

I have uploaded these files to rapidshare. I'll PM you the link.
I'm not sure if posting the link here is allowed so if anyone else is interested, please PM me.
Don't expect an immediate reply though. I'm working nights at the moment so wont have a chance to read them for a day or so.

Jedi KnightAre these still the ones from way-back that were 96 kbps? I was always really dissapointed that the encoding was done so low. Would be great to hear these at 196 or higher.

A victim of Lucasfilm's desire to give every freaking background character a backstory.Yep. These are the mp3 files I've had sat on my hard drive since I downloaded them from the site in the 1st post.
Part 1 is encoded at 64kbps, part 2 at 48kbps and part 3 at 96kbps.
Not the best quality ever but it's a good record of what was heard in theaters back in 1977.

Since it's an audio recording of something that's never been released, you are allowed to post the links.

Belbucus' recording of the 70mm mix - with the '93 mix in the other channel - was uploaded as an uncompressed WAV. (See this thread.) There was also a newer file synched to the GOUT video.
However, unlike morgands1's audio, the 70mm mix in Belbucus' file is only a mono recording.

Jedi KnightCool, I didn't know that existed. Amazing that we have not one but two recordings of the 70mm.

I'm curious - how does that follow? Just because something wasn't released doesn't mean it isn't copyrighted.

Better Grumpy than DopeySorry, when I said "allowed" I meant from the POV of the forum rules, not copyright law.
