twooffour is a troll.
I don't use this term lightly. "Troll" is thrown around way too much, but it should be obvious to pretty much anyone not named "twooffour" that he is the very definition of troll - he argues everything he can merely to get people to respond so he can do more of his "I'm superior" arguing carp. Since he technically isn't breaking any forum rules, he's not going to get banned. And thus the only way we'll ever be rid of him is to stop replying to him.
I realize I'm prime suspect #1 in engaging him, and this will be more difficult for me to follow through with than anyone. But I think we definitely need to completely tune this guy out if he's ever going to leave. And I'm pretty sure he'll leave if he has no one to argue with.
Therefore...
I pledge to never respond to a single twooffour post again. I won't quote him, I won't respond to him, I won't mention him.
Holy hell this will be difficult. But with all of your help, I'm sure I can beat this "thing."

Would take you a great deal of willpower to achieve that, considering that so far, you and a few others have been all too eager to actually ACTIVELY FUEL these pissing contests, by jumping into threads and STARTING IT ALL ANEW.
All I'm doing is being honest and blunt about my objections to given points. What you'll have to overcome is a fucking obsession.
I guess the more reasonable alternative of growing a thicker skin and learning to defend your points even when you don't receive pleasantries like "I respectfully respect your opinion, and it's just your opinion" from the other party, isn't a possibility here.
But then, indeed, if you can't put up with it, you should REALLY learn to bow out. Not come back with a snippy remark a few days later (or immediately after) even though it's your turn to put up a counterargument, no - just bow out.

Wow, such pathos and drama (is this the 3rd thread created in my name? or the 4th? who created all those threads?) all over someone who isn't even a troll? (But you can't get why?)
The irony here: this entire, let's say "story", started with me acting snippy and condescending in some discussions. That's it.
I wouldn't have minded getting a few of the same kind back, as well as not. Certainly wouldn't have given a fuck if someone decided to just abort a discussion for whatever reason.
All this stupid flaming nonsense, arised because of YOU. Because YOU felt the need to jump in and point out how I shouldn't be saying things like "you're wrong". And it went on from there. Because YOU feel the need to reiterate that in one thread after another, even if completely uncalled for in a particular instance. I just enjoyed fighting back at the opportunity.
YOU made such a huge issue out of this, and if you've now finally decided it's time to put a stop of it, well I should bloody well think so.

Some of you may not have noticed, but I have come to 2/4s defense several times in the past couple of weeks. I thought some of you were being too hard on the ol' boy and he had some valid opinions and thoughts and some of us here were too quick to dismiss them. I, for one, enjoyed reading them when they were presented without... style.
Which makes what I'm about to do all the more sad.

Hmm. I'll have to think about this one for a bit, Frinky. On the one hand, you're absolutely right. Twooffour is probably one of the most obstinate, delusional, arrogant, annoying, convinced-of-his-own-infallibility people I've ever had the displeasure of communicating with since my ex-fiancee, and considering that she just sent me a half-assed "apology" accompanied by a long, rambling letter of why she was still, in spite of that, completely right and justified about everything anyway... wait, what were we talking about again?
Oh, yeah. On the other hand, yes, I've already long since stopped bothering to communicate with him. Makes me feel all icky inside. But I admit I do get some jollies in watching people like Frink and Mrebo debate with him and watching the hijinks ensue and the crazy rationalizing come out of his keyboard. It will be a shame to see that go away, although I can understand why Frink has finally thrown up his arms and decided it wasn't worth the effort, since, as I just said, I went through the same process.
So all of that said... I'm not sure if I'll take the pledge of not. But I'm certainly leaning in favor of it. =P
