Can easily make the menus NTSC Jonno, and still have them available.
By all means send the feature through if you can and I'll send it out DFNYC.
Update to follow over the weekend re Part II !

The Big Box looked so Cool that I had to have it. Not sure if it has any thing on it that is not on Qaudrilogy or Legacy box sets. I like the Booklet that comes with it I can actually Read it. It sure looks nice on my shelf. I got that and The uncensored LD of Roger Rabbit. To quote Trotter in Let It Ride "I'm having a very good day".
The 9th disk on the Alien Quadrilogy box set actually has a complete preservation of the Laserdisk extras (pretty cool i think!).

I'm sure the Alien Evolution doc was included with the previous (non-Quadrilogy) Alien Saga boxset here in UK-PAL land, as an extra disc with the copy of Alien in the box.
I'm almost positive that mine had it. I sold the box to a friend of mine, so I can contact him to see if he still has it. This would be better than a DV-to-DVD transfer.
If I can find it, I'll report back.

That bonus disc was called 'the alien legacy' and it's completely different to the Evolution docu (the way i remebered it...). ....

Ah!
Okay, I remember now - cheers!
[edit]
Probably a stupid question, but is this different from the Alien Evolution doc on disc 9 of the Quadrilogy set? Is it a longer version or something? I know the version of the Kermode Exorcist doc on the UK Exorcist disc is a shorter version than was broadcast (the R1 disc has the full length version) - is this what happened here?
Cheers!

Certainly is a similar case creamstick - this version contains all 4 films, as opposed to just Alien from the boxset - pretty scathing of 3 and 4, hence it's edited inclusion on the Quadrilogy.

Right *pulls sleeves up* it's time for the next installment !
The original plan was to concentrate on a disc per film with as much as poss that wasn't included on the Quadrilogy. So it looks like Alien is the plan

Apart from Resurrection, there is of course the films themselves in their varying formats.
Alien "Bloated" version - with all scenes cut back in
Aliens CBS
Alien3 Workprint
Was the plan to avoid putting these out there ? Seems cruel not to let the people get what they want !
So let's gauge interest !
I'm now fully available after a work hiatus that had me going every hour in the day - no for some RnR in an Alien stylee

Sounds great Nix - thanks for that - I've sent you a PM.
Right - with the Appendix discs proper on a slight hold, I can easily push ahead with the alternate versions of the first three films - Alien Flabby edit, CBS Aliens both with and without original 1987-ish adverts

Phew.
Apologies for the radio silence, Alien Appendix #2 has just rolled off the burner and is ready to go. I'll hold off with all info until I see if I can secure some cover art from our resident cover guru, then will post the NFO here as soon as I can !
There's a single layer and dual layer made of this one, one with the bare bones and another with an extensive over-haul of the original source. Can't wait to share it with you

Cheers,

Really look forward to the second release in the serie's! How is this gonna be spread, through usenet or myspleen?
Thanx for all you efforts......

A combination of both

I imagine dual layer will be usenet and MySpleen will get the single layer - we'll see how demand goes, though of course anyone can obtain either directly from me.
Cheers,

Time to unleash the beast...
Alien Appendix 2Alien Redux - "The Virtual Workprint"A fan-edit of the film ALIEN which interpolates all exisiting deleted scenes and a variety of unseen footage and unused score cues to create a version that runs considerably longer than both the 1979 theatrical release and the 2003 director's cut.
Running Time: 2 hours 19 minutes and 21 seconds
This is the second release in the continuing "Alien Appendix" series: a collection dedicated to the archiving of supplementary material inspired by the Alien film quartet at the highest possible level of quality.
There will be 2 versions out there - a dual-layer version which is anamorphically enhanced and a single-layer version which is non-anamorphic.
I'm waiting for a batch of discs to arrive, as soon as they are here I'll send them out to the usual suspects. Hopefully should find it's way onto myspleen and the newsgroups in due course. PM me if you'd like to be added to the distribution list, on the assumption that you will be able to pay-it-forward to like minded fans in your neck of the woods

Enjoy !
(#3 is teetering on the edge of completion - so hopefully there won't be the wait between 1 and 2 as there has been between 2 and 3 - damn real life getting in the way !)
Thanks to Jonno, Ash595, THX and ADigitalMan for their help on providing, prettifying (x2) and polishing this monster respectively !
Laters,
meedermow

I was looking at my Alien Special Wide Screen Collector's Edition Laserdisc Box Set ( 6 sides) and I think there is footage on those discs that I have not seen anywhere else. Now I may be wrong as I sometimes am but If Not Your welcome to borrow it if you need it.
