It was a pleasure to view this high quality VCD version which is significant for its creation on a home computer, resulting in chapter stops, opening introductory and title graphics and most importantly , seamless integration of deleted scenes into their rightful place, some areas more logical than the Phantasm X-Cut, one less. While the X-Cut was created before certain new scenes were released on DVD – Tall Man's graveyard scowl and Jody putting Mike to bed, no such omission in this version, leaving no stone unturned.

An unenlightened viewer would be hard pressed to figure out what was originally not in the film. Notable also is how the old footage used for Phantasm 4's ending is respectfully added after the final end credits for the film.

The result is a compelling edit of Phantasm.
