Kill Bill Uncut

Project Summary
It was written and filmed as a single movie, but was edited and released as two films, due in part to the very long running time of the original single-film version. This is an interpreted version of the film without any major cuts using the Uncut Japanese DVD of Vol. 1 and the US cut of Vol. 2.

Uploader Comments:

This cut combines Volume 1 (from the Uncut Japanese DVD) and Volume 2 (the U.S. cut) together as a whole to create a virtually seemless full length butt numb-er measuring in at 3 hours and 50 minutes. Mainly the ending credits have been cut off of both of the films, the opening credits were altered from Kill Bill Vol. 1 to just 'Kill Bill'.

The opening dedication to 'Master Filmmaker Kinji Fukasaku' from the Japanese cut has been maintained and the Klingon quote has been moved to the end of Vol. 1.

The opening monologue (which I found cheesy) of Volume 2 has been removed as well as the opening credits (obviously).

OK, just to reiterate on the technical specs of this DVD...

The menus are custom that I composed myself--I could have gotten much fancier but there just wasn't enough space on the DVD. The video has been recompressed in certain spots (the opening credits, the fade-to-black intermission & the final cast credits from Vol. 2 as most of the footage has been seen before). The audio's 5.1 track was extracted at 448kbps and downsampled to 320kbps to fit as well.

The subtitles have been customized as well straight from the Japanese cut, so it's missing the coloured subtitles but at least it's only for Japanese, French and Mandarin. You may notice a small layer break in the middle of Chapter 6 with Bill & The Bride--this was unavoidable I'm afraid, if anyone wants to dump it to their hard drive and figure out a way to fix it that i'm not aware of... be my guest. Authoring programs don't allow me to get them spot on so I'm sorry.

Due to the length/size of this film, it will likely skip if you're trying to play it on your computer in a DVD program (unless you have some geeked out amount of RAM). If you're playing it straight off the hard drive you can use Media Player Classic and it should play just fine. It should not skip during playback on your home DVD Player (I had tested it with my Philips DVP642 and it plays just fine) so make sure you've tested other dual layer recordable discs first. These files are to be burned in the VIDEO_TS folder so just put all these files in the VIDEO_TS folder when you burn it on a DVD9 in Nero, etc.

If anyone notices that the film's video is not as high quality as the retail DVDs--please let me know! Tarantino is apparently re-cutting the film and re-releasing it in theaters in 2006 as one long 'epic' film. According to him, now that Disney's no longer an affiliate of Miramax there will be a Japanese cut released. Please support any future releases of this film (especially the uncut release) as I'm sure it will be very different!
